December 27 at the Protestant
Chapel, Marine Corp Air
Station, Cherry Point, N.C.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Orval Bryan
Stever of Wilmington, N.C.,
formerly of Perry. The groom’s
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde
Wilbur Dooley of Clarkston, Ga.
Captain Lawrence Shoberg
performed the double ring
ceremony. The altar was
decorated with pedestal
arrangements of white mums
flanked by seven branch can
delabra. A red velvet prayer
bench was centered below the
cross. Miss Dorothy Williams of
Cherry Point, N.C. was organist
and accompanied Miss Terri
Torhan of Wilmington, N.C.,
soloist.
The groom chose Jimmy
George Kirkland of Gainesville,
Ga. as best man. Ushers were
Don M. Eggspuchler of lowa
Falls, lowa and Barry Alan
Stever of Wilmington, N.C.,
brother of the bride.
Miss Mary Elizabeth Keener
of Wilmington, N.C. was
maid of honor and the bride’s
only attendant. She wore a gown
of marine blue patterned velvet
fashioned in a floor length

velvet bandeau. She carried a
cascade of yellow mums.
The bride given in marriage
by her father, was lovely in her
bridal gown featuring a bishop’s
mantel, of point Alencon re
embroidered with pearls, at
tached to a lace yoke with
Victorian neckline and full
length pointed sleeves and
falling over a peau de soie silk
skimmer to form the chapel
train. Her finger tip veil was
attached to a Juliet lace cap
encrusted with pearls. She
carried a bridal bouquet of
yellow rose buds interspersed
with marine blue gysophelia.
Mrs. Stever chose for her
daughter’s wedding a three
piece yellow and white Italian
knit ensemble with beige ac
cessories. Mrs. Dooley was
attired in a light blue wool knit
dress with matching coat and
navy accessories. Each wore a
yellow rose bud corsage.
Immediately following the
ceremony a reception was held
in the Officer’s Open Mess,
Marine Corp Air Station. The
bride’s table, covered in white
satin overlaid with net was
decorated with a candelabra
and the groom’s sword. Cen
tering the table was the
columned and tiered cake
embossed with rosebuds and
topped with a bride and groom

Major (ret) and Mrs. Earle R.

Panama City and Pensacola,
Fla., during the holidays.

chose a peasant style maxi
dress of red patterned velvet
with black patent accessories.
Following a wedding trip, 2nd
Lt. and Mrs. Dooley will make

The double ring ceremony
took place at Hephzibah First
Christian Church with the Rev.
Wallace T. Gentry officiating.
Robert Lee Thompson was his
son’s best man and ushers were
Raymond C. Rosier, Jr., of
Hephzibah; Jerry A. Davis, 111,
Hugh Hill, Benny Giles, Don
Chapman, all of Perry; Andrew
Cato of Hepzibah; Charles Tant
of Augusta, and Arnold Ham
mock of Edison; and George
Perdue of Bonaire.
Mrs. Donna Hinifant of
Augusta served the bride as
matron of honor and Miss
Patricia Jayne McDaniel of
Gainsville was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Miss

Linda Rosier of Hephzibah,
Miss Dawn Cato of Hephzibah
was the junior attendant and
little Miss Elizabeth Tant of
Augusta was flower girl.
The attendants were gowned
alike in ruby silk velvet
featuring an oval neckline, full
front bodice and fitted sleeves
with shirred pouffs finished at
the wrist. The empire was
finished with a band of velvet
with a tailored how accenting

L. C. McGuire and Mrs.
McGuire in Coumbus, Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Black and
the back. The slightly full skirts
were ankle length. They wore
tailored velvet bows. Each
carried a bouquet of red roses
and holly. The flower girl
carried a red sweetheart rose
nosegay.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore an Original
Bianchi in silk peau-de-soie and
hand run alencon lace, beaded
in seed pearls and crystals. A
ring neckline of standing
scalloped lace extended down
the front in Redingote effect,
appliqued onto the dress and
extended around the hemline.
All lace fitted sleeves ended in
points over her hands. The train
was aisle wide and cathedral
length with scallops and bead
work. She wore a fall of peau
de-soie, roses and alencon lace
leaves re-embroidered in
pearls and aurora stems and
was attached to layer upon
layer of French illusion. She
carried a cascade bouquet of
white roses, stephonotis with
white orchids enterspersed with
pine and accented with moss
green velvet ribbon.
Immediately following the
ceremony the bride’s parents
entertained at a reception at the
Old Government House in
Augusta.
Upon their return from a
wedding trip to New Orleans,
La., the couple will be at home
at 103-B Tara Apartments,
Perry.
Todd visited in Senaca, S. C.
during the Holidays with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vemer
Black.
Mr. and Mrs. William B.
Harrison, Jr., Billy and Alice of
Rome were the Holiday guests
of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Harrison,
Sr and Bobby and Mr. and Mrs.
Clifford Grimes and family.
