Westfield Schools in Perry; and two new initiates,
Patricia Bassett, Crawford County Teacher, and
Linda Beckum, Macon County teacher.
Guest speaker was Miss
Mary Crooks of Rabun Gap,
Delta Kappa Gamma State

interesting talk on
“Meaningful Contributions
of Women”. She stated that a
woman has so many chances
to make meaningful and
unique contributions to
society because of the very
fact that she is a woman. “A
woman is the key to good in
homes for that is the cradle
where the future is born,”
Miss Crooks said. She
stressed the fact that women
have played important roles
in art, music, the theatre,
politics, literature, science,
an education. In school the
woman is able to make many
outstanding contributions to
the lives of children. She
closed with the thought that
“Life is too short to be lit
tle.”
At the close of the

"Whoever would be great
among you must be your
servant.” (Matthew 20:26)
This Sunday will be Palm
Sunday. For many of us, I
am afraid, Palm Sunday is
remembered more for the
palms than for the savior in
whose path the palms were
laid. Yes, palms are
beautiful, but Palm Sunday
commemorates the coming
of Jesus Christ to Jerusalem
as a King. It was only a small
company of people who
welcomed Christ to
Jerusalem on that first Palm
Sunday, but, today that
number has grown until
hundreds of Millions will
welcome and honor him on
this Palm Sunday.
Why has the number
grown to such proportions?
Not because of you or me or
the church. There is no other
explanation for the growth of
the number who follow Jesus
Christ except that their lives
have been touched by God
through the divine presence
of Jesus Christ.

God. Other rulers have made
men feel that they were

has lifted them to new
heights. Instead of making
men slaves, he moved to
make us “kings and priests
unto God.”
Jesus is the King who
serves. He came "not to be
ministered unto, but to
minister.” He took our needs
upon himself and he calls
upon us to do the same for
others. He did in a supreme
way that which we are called
upon to do to in a lesser
degree, but none-the-less do
it! “He who would be great
among you must be servant
of all.” Not because he wants
to be great, but because he
wants to serve.
Christ works in a won

we in turn might serve
others. He was the master of
