WSCS Ladies of the Crossroads Methodist
Church are having a BAKE SALE Saturday,
March 25th from 9 a m. until all is sold, in front of
Grants store, Grants Plaza. Proceeds to go for
kitchen equipment for the church.
The Pilot Club of Perry will hold the March
program meeting at the New Perry Hotel on
Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30 p m. The public
relations committee will be in charge of the
meeting and the program will be given by Mr. and
Mrs. Wendell Whipple.
Diabetes Association of Middle Georgia meets
Monday night, March 27th at 7:30 p.m. in the
Doctors Dining room of the Coliseum Hospital.
The speaker will be Barbara Cowan, instructor of
Nutrition at Medical Center of Middle Georgia.
Quarterly meeting of the Perry Club Council
meets April 10 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ochlahatchee
Clubhouse. Officers and trustees meet at 7 p.m.
The Houston County UGF board of directors
meeting will be held Monday, March 27 at 7:30
p.m. at the Happy Hour Workshop on Young Ave.
(802) in Warner Robins, Ga. All UGF directors are
urged to attend.
Newcomers Club will have Installation Banquet
at the New Perry Hotel Thursday, March 23rd
(tonight) at 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be
Mayor-elect John Barton.
The Perry Club Council will sponsor a 10 week
instructional bridge class beginning March 23,
1972. The instructor will be Mrs. Arthur Phelps of
Warner Robins, Georgia. The class will meet once
a week each Thursday evening from 7:30 P.M. to
10:00 P.M. in the conference room of the Bank of
Perry in the Eastgate Shopping Center.
The class is limited to a maximum enrollment
of 24 students. If interested call 987-1224 or 987-
3929.
The Potpourri Club meets Tuesday, March 28 at
the Cty. Agr. Bldg, at 10 am. Mrs. Harry
Thompson will show a number of quilts for ideas
on patterns and procedures used in quilting.
The Idaka Club will hold its regular meeting
Tuesday, March 28th at 7:30 p.m. at the home of
Mrs. Gary Hall.

Rash Os Burglaries
Break Out In Perry
The Perry Police
Department received a
report that two tires and
wheels were stolen from
Tommy Wright’s Gulf
Service Station on Highway
41 South.
Rodney Newell reported
the theft of a 1968 Chevrolet
Vi ton truck, yellow with
white camper cover, and an
outboard motor.
Thrift Courts reported the
theft of approximately $l2O
from their cash drawer.
Robert Thompson
Ware ho use reported
someone broke in and took
one 30-30 caliber Marian rifle
valued at $lO5, 1 Westclock
watch valued at $32, and A
Black an Decker jig saw
valued at $43.
Herschel Thompson,
principal of Perry
Elementary School, reported
the school was entered,
probably through a window,
and a Zenith 23 inch model
television set was taken.
An accident on Highway
341 north involved a 1969
Chevrolet truck driven by
Roy Carl Peterson, P. O.
Box 60, Marshallville, and a
1971 Dodge drived by David
P. Wilson, Rt. 1, Elko.
Peterson told investigating
officers that a car made a
left turn in front of him,
causing a sudden stop which
in turn caused Wilson to run
into the back of his vehicle.
Patrolmen Cross and
Chestnut investigated.
On Commerce Street,
Lonnie Ezell, 516 Betty
Street, Perry, was driving a
1969 Chevrolet when he left
the street, ran up on the
sidewalk and hit a utility
pole, which broke in three
pieces. He then drove on
approximate one-half mile
before stopping. He was
charged with leaving the
scene of an accident.
Assistant Chief Shellnut and
Patrolman Langston in
vestigated.
Patrolmen Cross and
Chestnut investigated an
accident on Main Street.
Kenneth Travis Biggs, 705
Pine Ridge, stopped in a 1963
Chevrolet to make a left turn
into Eastgate Shopping
Center; Harold Eugene
Soles, of 1433 Tucker Road,
was operating a 1971
Chevrolet Nova and stated
that he did not see the Biggs
vehicle in front of him.
FIRE REPORT
There were no fires
reported by the Perry Fire
Department during the past
week.
Two state fire marshalls
visited the local fire
department. Accompanied
by Chief Sirah I a whom and
Chief Fire Inspector Smokey
Wells, they inspected the
Perry Elementary Annex
and pulled a practice fire
drill.

Jerry A. Davis, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jerry A. Davis 111,
Box 14, Perry, completed
requirements for the
Bachelor of Business Ad
ministration degree at North
Georgia College at the end of
winter quarter and will
receive his diploma in June.
Marilyn Daniel of Perry
received her Bachelor of
Science in Education degree
in the initial winter quarter
graduation exercises held on
March 12 at West Georgia
College, Carrollton.
In the same exercises
William A Volk of Perry
received his Bachelor of
Science in Business Ad
ministration degree.
