guests. Sunday, Mrs. little
Ford, Mr. Ford’s sister-in
law of Macon, visited during
the afternoon.
Mrs. H. W. Huff had as
Saturday afternoon guests,
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Huff
from Macon.
Mrs. Hazel Huff is a
patient at Perry-Houston
Hospital. Friends wish her a
speedy recovery and hope
she will be home soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Collins
have as a guest Mrs. T. M.
Collins of Thomaston. Mrs.
Collins will be spending a
week with her son and
daughter-in-law.
The community and
friends welcome Charles
Padgett home from Viet
nam. Charles, son of Mr. and
Mrs E. C. Padgett, Jr., has
spent almost a year and a
half in Vietnam in the U. S.
Army. He received his
discharge and arrived
home Thursday, March 16th.

Mr. and Mrs. Marty
Woodard, daughter, Rhonda,
and Mrs. Inez Yansom
spent Sunday, at Jekyll
Island where they had an
enjoyable time.

Jonathan Harris returned to
Kainsville, Alabama, with
them after having spend a
week with the Hensons
Friends were glad to know
Mr. Ernest Fowler is im
proving with each day. Mr.
Fowler, a patient in Macon,
spent the weekend with his
family at home.

Singing Meet
Begins Sat.
'lhe Georgia State Sacred
Harp Singing Convention
will be held March 25th and
26th at Old Valley Grove
Church located off Highway
319 getween Ocilla and
Tifton. Singing will begin at
10:00 each morning and last
until about 4:00 each af
ternoon. A covered dish
luncheon will be served each
day.
You are cordially invited
to attend and participate in
the two-day convention.
Singers from all over
Georgia are scheduled to
attend.

Newton (r) of Byron were two of the Civil Defense
Reserve Policemen who directed traffic in the
area of the Bonaire-Kathleen Volunteer Fire
Department during the barbecue sale on Friday,
March 17th which was sponsored by the Women’s
Auxiliary for the purpose of raising funds for Fire
fighter’s outfits.

Perry Band Boosters Meet
Ferry Schools Band
Booster Club will hold its
monthly meeting Tuesday,
March 28th at 7:30 p.m. at
the Junior High cafetorium.
Parents of all band students
are considered members and
are urged to attend this short
(1 hour) meeting.
A nominating committee
will be formed to elect new
officers for the 1972-73 school
year.
Parents will be en
tertained with music played
by the High School Band and
refreshment will be served.
