Perry LL Begins Practice April 24th I

* The Perry Little League will start practice on
* the 24th of April, and regular league play will
* begin on the 30th of May. Boys who are nine years
* old by October 1, 1972, and under thirteen years
J old by July 20, 1972, will be eligible to participate
* in the Little League this year. There will be a
* Middle Georgia Tournament after the regular
J season with the winners of the tournament being
« presented trophies. The teams will be announced
■•‘April 20, 1972, in the Houston Home Journal.
* The Little League announces plans to operate
* the Pee Wee League for boys five, six, seven, and
J eight years old, and they will play one game per
« week at night These teams wiU be coached by the
* Little League Managers, which will insure the
* best in coaching. The beginning practice time for
* the Pee Wee League will be announced in the

the press and ready for sale.
These membership cards
are selling for $5.00 or any
donation which the member
might wish to give to the
baseball program. These
membership cards are on
sale at the Recreation
Center Office and by
members of the Baseball For
Youth Board of Directors,

Baseball For Youth
Program. General mem
bership is open to any citizen
in Houston County who
purchases a $5.00 mem
bership card. A contributing
member is anyone con
tributing $25.00 or more to
support this program.
All general members will
be invited to the general
membership meeting, which
will be held annually in
August of each year for
the purpose of electing the
Board of Directors who will
run the program. The Board
of Directors will be elected
by the general membership
from among all general
membership members. The
general membership will not
be required to attend the
regular board meetings.
These regular meetings will
be attended only by the
board of Directors elected to
run the program. However,
general members may at
tend if they so desire for the
purpose of information or to
offer suggestions on issues.
The Baseball For Youth
Program is for boys ages 6
through 17 years old.

Remains Unbeaten In 72
Monday afternoon
Westfield’s tennis team
ventured to Sandersville to
play Brentwood Academy.
This being their second
match all the members
were still a little nervous but
also thinking about adding a
win to their records. Con
sidering the rainy weather,
bad court conditions and
other technicalities West
field still won a very decisive
match over Brentwood.
Westfield was never behind
in this match, winning all
games except one. The
winning results were as
follows:

doubles with scores 6-1 & 6-3
Mark Etheridge and
Robert Richardson - won
boys 2nd doubles with scores
6-3 & 6-2.

Thomas announces that
thirty one Perry youngsters
are enrolled in the Houston
County Track Program.
This type program is a
first for Perryans. Ob
servations reveal that after
the first four training
sessions our Perry thinclads
seem to be enjoying them
selves and are eagerly
looking forward to their first
track meet about mid April.
