fcA yt* 7/lfjl i Pm Harrison High School Band Visits Perry Indiana Band Performs At Perry High School The Harrison High School Band from West I-afayette, Indiana chose Perry as a stopping point on their week long louring trip - their destination being Disney World in Orlando where their marching band will perform. The Perry Band Students hosted the members of the band overnight Monday, April 3. This newly organized band, only two years old, has a membership of 160 musicians. Only half of the band members were able to make this trip. The band has offered a NEWS FROM HEN OEKSUN AND HA YN EVILLK EACH WEEK IN THE HOUSTON HOME JOURNAL. Perry High School band student a $150.00 scholarship to tour Mexico with them this summer. GSC Seniors Begin Practice Teaching Here A number of Georgia Southwestern College seniors are practice teaching in Houston County schools (luring spring quarter. They include Donald Housend of Hawkinsville, teaching at Elberta Elementary; Cathy Holland, Eastman, Miller Elementary; Frank Taylor, Hawkinsville, Northside High School; Princella Manley, Pavo, and Vivian Worlic, Fort Valley, Russell Elementary; Kay Tyson Harrison, Shirley Hills Elementary; Benjamin Gregory, Crandall, Tabor Junior High; At Tucker Elementary, Veronica Cunningham, Eastman and Sallie Ann Thompson, Hawkinsville; at Warner Robins High, Teresa Butler, Eastman. Melba Mosteller of Perry, a student at Georgia College at Milledgeville, is a spring quarter student teacher at Northside High School in Warner Robins. Homemaker Class To Offer Course In Etiquette If you’re even in doubt about correct methods of table settings and meal service, you will want to attend the Extension Homemaker Class offered by Miss Dee Weems, County Extension Home Economist and sponsored by Jones Jewelry Company, Various types of table appointments from informal family dinners to buffets, afternoon teas, and formal dinners will be discussed. The class will be held in the County Agricultural Building in Perry on April 18th from 2:00 P.M. until 3:30 P.M. New Warner Robins Flint EMC Office To Open April 17 The new Warner Robins District Office of Flint Electric Membership Corporation will open for business on Monday, April seventeenth, and all operations will be tran sferred to the new building at 1600 Elberta Road in Warner Robins, it was announced this week. The new facility contains PAGE 8-B approximately 17,000 square feet, offers drive-up window service, and night depository for use after regular hours. The hours will be the same as at the old Watson Boulevard office, 8:30 a.m. untils p.m., Monday through Friday. The Watson Boulevard office will be closed and the property disposed of, according to Flint EMC. Over 14,500 members are served in Warner Robins and environs by the local district office, which has 52 employees. Perryans Kin Dies In Cordele Tommy J. West. 62, died Tuesday April 4 in the Crisp County Hospital in Cordele after a long illness. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dekle Funeral Home in Cordele with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery there. Mr. West was a lifelong resident of Crisp County. He was a police officer in Cordele until his retirement and was a member of the Peace Officers Association. PERRY. GEORGIA. THURSDAY.
