PThe Cook’s Nook
By Mildred E. Warren
Our nook this week will please you,
I’m sure .. Lib (Mrs. Mickey)
Saunders of Mt Airy, N.C. joins us for
another visit, and the two recipes she
sent me are for “Potato Chip
Cookies” and a “Bean Pie”. (I think
that you will be as surprised as I when
you read the ingredients of the Bean
Pie.) I have an idea it is “kin” to
pumpkin and sweet pototo pies. Lib
always comes up with something
different, and good.
Thelma (Mrs. Herbert) Walton
gave me a recipe for Bride’s Salad
that she serves for parties and says
that each time she serves it she rates
compliments. This one comes from an
aunt in Fort Valley. Thelma brought
several pieces of the most delicious
coconut cake to us the day she gave
me this recipe.
Surprises like this are most
pleasurable, and pleasant
