Cloud announce the marriage of their daughter, Meredith to Richard 1). Howell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Howell of Hawkinsville. The wed ding took place in Aiken, S.C on April 29, 1972. Mrs. Powell is a 1971 graduate of Perry High School and is currently employed by Security Federal Savings and Loan Assn. Mr. Howell graduated from Brewton Parker College and Austin Peay State University with a BS Degree in Education. He is presently employed by the Houston County Board of Education. The couple are at home at Westwood Mobile Home Park in Perry, Ga, Miss Pearce-Mr. Prater Plan June 2nd Wedding Mr. and Mrs. Levin A. Pearce Sr. of Henderson announces the engagement of their daughter Debra Ann Pearce to Richard Swayn Prater, son of Mrs. Lesta Prater of Lubbock, Texas, and Howard Prater of Perry. Miss Pearce will be a 1972 graduate of Unadilla High HAYNEVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Tom Huff and Mrs. Walter Huff en joyed attending the homecoming at the Presbyterian Church in Clinchfield Sunday, May Bth. Mrs Walter Huff and Mrs. Tom Huff spent Friday in Macon visiting with Mrs. Walter Huff's son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Huff. The Hayneville and Grovania Volunteer Fire Dept. (District 3) attended a school in Warner Robins on firefighting techniques. There were eleven of the firemen that attended these classes, which was taught by an instructor from Georgia Institute of Technology. This school was for 8 days. Chief Adams sincerely ap preciates each of the men who gave up their time for this volunteer work and expecially to their wives and families, he says thanks also. He, himself, feels that they have learned a great deal from this school. Kim and Pam Patterson of Byron, were Friday night guests of Marilyn Hutto. Mr. and Mrs. James Self and family visited with Mrs. Self’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Tyson and Mr. Carlton Tyson, Danny and Jo Lynn all of Tifton, also Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Mason from Stone Mountain. They all helped to celebrate Mrs. Jehu Tyson and Mr. Floyd Tyson’s birth days on Sunday. Stevie and Johnny Woodard were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Padgett and family. They were Mr, and Mrs. Lamar Fowler and Brian, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Fowler and Bobby, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Fowler and boys, Mr. Donnie Fowler and Sandy. Camping Saturday night at Indian Springs was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Mark Adams, Micheal, Cynthia and Eric. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hamsley and Miss Avvie Brazeal had guests for Sunday dinner. They were: Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Merrit of Groveland, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Brown of Jackson, Ga.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mashburn, Mrs. W. A. Friends of Mrs. Joe Collins are sorry to hear that she is still not feeling well, after having surgery. We hope she will soon be up and around. David Henson spent Saturday night with Andy Fowler Cawthon is a patient in Middle Georgia Hospital where she underwent eye surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hooks and Stephanie, Mrs. Charlie Kersey, and Becky Ragan enjoyed a trip to Six Flags Sunday, May 7th. PAGE 8-A Miss Cooper Attends DAR St. Conference On April 29, Miss Martha Cooper attended the Georgia State conference S.A.R. in Albany. Thursday, she was guest in the home of Mrs. Claude E. Fitts near Newnan and attended a proceedings meeting of the Georgia State Society NSDAR. She was the overnight guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Benford in Thomaston. At Augusta on Friday, Miss Cooper Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Mc- Cormick visited with their son Mr. and Mrs. R. G. McCormick and family in Fort Valley, Sunday. Mrs. Lillian Williams of Clinchfield, enjoyed spen ding Monday visiting with Mrs. Bertha West of Hayneville. Mr. and Mrs. Pap Nipper and son Tommy were Friday night supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Ford and Annette and then Sunday Mrs Ford’s sister, Mrs. Tipper, had dinner with them. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Huff visited with their son and family Mr. and Mrs. Larry Huff of Perry, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Fowler and boys entertained Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Fowler and Bobby; Mr. Donnie Fowler and Sandy; Mr. and Mrs. John N. OVERTON JEWELERS DOWNTOWN PERRY, GEORGIA Showers Honor Honor Bride-Elect Bebe Hammock Miss Bebe Hammock bride-elect of David Dennard was honored by the mem bers of Heard Home Economics Club, April 26 at the home of Mrs. Pearl Hammock, at a kitchen gadget shower. Fourteen members were present at this affair. Mrs. Caldwell Weston and Mrs. Jerry Spillers honored Miss Hammock at a lun cheon, April 29, at the Idle Hour Country Club in Macon. The luncheon table was centered with an arrangement of spring flowers. Covers were laid for twelve guests. The honoree was presented a sterling silver Christmas tree ornament as a gift from the hostesses.
