Phyllis Brevard in the death
of her husband James L.

Airman First Class
Kenneth C. Milton, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Milton of
1508 State Fxt., Perry, Ga.,
has deployed to Thailand
with the U.S. Air Force's
49th Tactical Fighter Wing.
Airman Milton is an air
craft maintenance specialist
with the wing, which moved
from Holloman AFB, N.M.,
to Takhli Royal Thai Air
Force Base
Wing aircrews, equipped
with supersonic F-4 Phan
tom fighter-bombers, were
flying combat missions
within 24 hours after
arriving in Southeast Asia.
Air Force operations had
ceased to Takhli 15 months
ago. However, as part of
President Richard M.
Nixon’s plan to protect
remaining U.S. forces in
Vietnam and halt increased
Communist aggression in

government approved
reactivation of the USAF
mission at Takhli.
Airman Milton is a 1970
graduate of Houston High
School and attended
Wydunch (N.Y.C.) College.
Army private Jeffrey L.
Taylor, 19, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Olin W. Taylor, 1603
Ross St., Perry, Ga.,
recently completed nine
weeks of training as a light
weapons infantryman at Ft.
Jackson, S.C.
He learned the techniques
of fire and tactics of a rifle
squad, patrolling, individual
combat operations, land
mine warfare, land
navigation, com
munications, and the firing
of the M-16 rifle and M-60
machine gun.
Pvt. Taylor is a 1971
graduate of Perry High
School, and attended
Georgia College.
