Hospital Patient Records To
Be Reviewed Every 15 Days
Houston County Hospital
patient records will be
reveiwed every 15 days to
determine if the patient
should be released.
Previously, a review was
being made every 30 days.
This action was taken at last
Monday night’s monthly
Hospital Authority meeting.
Hospital Administrator
Myron McDonald noted that
Governor Carter Addresses
Warner Robins Democrats
Governor Jimmy Carter
told a group in Warner
Robins that he believes
Senator George McGovern
and Alabama Governor
George Wallace may be able
to find “some common
ground” in writing the
Democratic platform at the
National Convention in
Miami.
Carter spoke to about 300
Democrats at a fund-raising
dinner in the Warner Robins
Recreation Dept. Friday
night. He said that there are
basic differences between
Wallace and McGovern, and
that McGovern can’t win
without the support of
Wallace.
Carter stated that in his
opinion the convention will
go beyond the first ballot and
may go well beyond a third
ballot if a compromise

Nunn Endorsed By
Northside News
Sam Nunn, of Perry,
candidate for the U.S.
Senate, has been endorsed
by the Northside News of
Atlanta which is edited by
Matt Perkins. The colum
nist, I,amar Q. Ball, of the
News, said in part:
“Georgia Democrats need
to nominate the Houston
County Legislator, Sam
Nunn of Perry. He has
publicly announced that his
aspiring to be a United
States Senator is prompted
by efforts, once he is inside
that top legislative function,
to eliminate much of the

“if a patient just needs
nightly sleeping pills there is
no need for them to remain
in the hospital.” He said that
the review’ is based on
doctor’s orders and nurses
notes. The review applies to
every patient in the hospital,
McDonald asserted.
Medicare regulations
require that a patient’s
record be checked every 12
candidate is sought. He
pointed out the challenge of
the California delegates and
delegates not yet committed
as reasons for that belief.
Although Carter once
headed a “stop McGovern”
movement, he told the
Democrats Friday night the
state may have a
presidential candidate “who
is not as popular as we like;
just as it was in 1968.”
He said that he would
support the Democratic
candidate, and reaffirmed
that he would support
McGovern if the senator is
nominated.
It was his assertion that
Democrats have fought for
such national programs as
Social Security, Rural Free
Delivery and minimum
wages, opposed all the way

The endorsement further
stated, “The young Sam
Nunn said recently that he
hoped, once he is on the floor
of the Senate, he could work
to quiet dissensions and
promote sound govern mental
thinking. With that as his
ambition, the Democratic
Party might recapture its
old time sound thinking of

today.”
days to determine if there is
a need for continued
hospitalization.
Lamar Christopher made
the motion that the review be
changed from 30 days to 15
days and the motion passed
by unanimous vote.
In other notes, the
Authority observed that the
census of beds in use was up
considerably from this time
last year. Perry ad
ministrator Cliff Hamer said
that 27 or 28 beds are
currently being occupied
each night at the Perry-
Houston County Hospital.
Myron McDonald said that
the Warner Robins
emergency room treated 105
patients last weekend.
