Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hagan
Jr. of Smyrna, Ga. and Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Maine of
Valdosta, Ga, visited Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh Ragan Sr.
over the week-end.
Mrs. Frank Tolbert, Scott
and Donna of Macon visited
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Thames
Monday, June 26th.

attending a meeting of
pastors in Lynchburg,
Virginia this week at
Thomas Road Baptist
Church.
Gwen Thames visited her
grandmother, Mrs. Floyde
Corn in Crawford County
Sunday through Tuesday.

baby shower Friday evening

Ragan was presented a pink
orchid corsage upon arrival.
The coffee table was
adorned with a stork and the
serving table was overlaid
with a white linen cover. A
beautiful crystal punch bowl
was used to serve the
delicious pink jello punch.
Silver serving trays held
miniature chicken salad
sandwiches of pink and blue
cut in the shape of tiny feet,
potato chips, pink mints
made in the shape of booties
and decorated with
miniature blue shoes and
pink and blue cup cakes
decorated with miniature
baby shoes. Twenty-three
guests enjoyed this lovely
affair..

baby shower given for their
sister-in-law, Mrs. Louis

Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Thames are the proud
parents of a baby son, born
June 20th, His name is
Ronnie Dean and he weighed
7 lbs. and 1 oz. at birth.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thomp
son entertained with a fish
fry Saturday evening, June
24th at their home. Guests

| Kiwanis Club recently, the

Rites Held For
Perryans Kin
Thomas Clark Hardin, 54,
of 414 Westover St.,
Thomasville, died Wed
nesday June 21 in Archibald
Hospital in Thomasville
after a short illness.
Funeral services were
held Thursday at 4 p.m. in
Friendship Presbyterian
Church. Burial was in Big
Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Hardin was a native of
Thomas County and had
lived most of his life in
Thomasville. He was a
retired employee of Robins
Air Force Base and a
member of Friendship
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his
mother, Mrs. Minta Clark
Hardin of Thomasville; six
sisters, Mrs. A. T. Raybon
and Mrs. C. E. Pierce, both
ofCoolidge.Mrs. G L. Hulsey
of Perry, Mrs. R. T. Tucker
of Hollywood, Calif., Mrs
Fred NeSmith of
Thomasville and Mrs Emma
O’Neal of Carrollton.
Kirkland-Croy Funeral
Home had charge of
arrangements.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry V.
Thompson and Mr. and Mrs.
Herschel Thompson and
family all of Perry.
International can bestow
upon a citizen.
Allen Whipple, in making
the award to Dr. Hendricks,
said there is no man in
Houston County living
that has done more for more
persons for mankind, than
Dr. Hendricks, as a prac
ticing physician for 43 years
and that he is truly, in every
sense, a great humanitarian.
Dr. Hendricks was bom in
1902 at Franklin, Ga. He
graduated from Emory
University in 1926, and from
Emory University School of
Medicine in 1930. He did his
post graduate work at John
Hopkins.
He served as Assistant
Surgeon to U.S. Public
Health Department at
Sylvester, Georgia. He
began practicing medicine in
1941 in Perry and still is one
of the most active physicians
in Georgia, going day and
night wherever and
whenever called upon.
Dr. Hendricks has served
as a Sunday School teacher
for the Perry United
Methodist Church, Trustee
of the Perry Methodists
Church, Member of the
Board of Stewards, Supports
a Missionary in Foreign
Card of Thanks

visits, flowers, cards, con

shown me during my stay in
the hospital and my con

1958, Man of the Year in 1970

He received two Presidential
Citations in appreciation of
continued service to the
Selective Service Board
from President Eisenhower
and President Nixon, and a

called at 1:30 a.m. June 22 to
stand by at an automobile
accident. There was no
fire and there were no ma
jor injuries but the dept,

jured to a hospital.
