Aunt Bertha West returned
home Friday after visiting
for three weeks in
Chickamauga with relatives.
Her sister, Mrs. Lillie
Scoggins returned home to
stay with her for a few days.
A picnic and swimming
was enjoyed at Mock Springs

Springs last Wednesday.
The people of our com
munity were sorry to hear
about the damage being done
in the cemetery. Headstones
are being removed from
there places and other
damage also. We do hope
whoever is responsible for
this will please see that it
doesn’t happen anymore.
A tupperwear party was
enjoyed at the home of Mrs.
Marty Woodard on Friday
night. Refreshments of ice
cream and cake were en
joyed by the several guests
who were there. Hostess of
this event was Mrs. Gale

Presents WSCS
Program Here
A program entitled,
“learning to Be Human in a
Push Button World", was
presented at the July
meeting of the Women's
Society of Christian Service
of the Perry United
Methodist Church. Mrs.
Seabie Hickson presented
the program on ecology,
pointing out that the world
belongs to God. God may
have chosen to share the
wealth with the oldest of
creatures, man, but he has
not released to man or any
other being, ownership
rights to any part of it. Man
must and will endure time
and in some way be held
responsible tor his
management of this part of
the world committed to his
charge.
Mrs. Hickson was assisted
by some of the children of the
church with whom she has
worked, Wendy Walker,
Claire Bledsoe, Larry
Walker, Thomas Shelton and
Louis Shelton. Mrs Dot
Whitworth and Miss Beth
Whitworth presented special
music accompanied by Mrs.
Joe McNutt.
Mrs. Cohen Walker,
president,opened the
meeting with a devotional
from an article written by
Dr. Curtis Jones.
Refreshments were served
at the close of the meeting by
members of Circle 5, with
Mrs. Marion Brown and Mrs.
Louis Harper as hostesses.
