ACTION
Cubs Roll 26-3
Perry Cubs coasted to a
26-to 3 win over the Warner
Robins Cardinals in a B”
league game. Leading the
Perry charge was Tom
Stokes with 2 for 4(a double
and RBI), Ed Porter 2 for 5
(a double and 3 RBIs), Greg
Shelnutt a single and RBI
and John Adams hit a two
bagger David Thompson
scored 3 runs for Perry
having reached base each
time on a walk. Thompson
pitched an inning of relief
doing a good job.
Randy Lumpkin of the
Cubs had a super day -a day
all ballplayers dream of but
seldom achieve. Lumpkin
was 3 for 4 (ALL HOMERS),
driving in 8 runs, scoring 4
times and stealing 2 bases.
As if that weren’t enough he
pitched five innings and
stuck out eleven, walked 2
and gave up 2 hits and 2 runs.
Cubbies are riding high
with only a one run loss to the
Perry Tigers smearing their
record. These two local
powerhouses meet this Sat.
at 10 a m. in Perry for what
should lie a real battle. Come
see it at the Houston Jr. Hi
Athletic field.
Panthers Win 25-7
Perry “B” league
Panthers ran over the
Bonaire Braves 25 to 7.
Panther hurler Benue
Richardson threw a
sparkling one-hitter at the
Braves. Sherman and
Ronnie Askew had two hits
each for the Panthers.
Lonnie Boone, Terance
Griffin, Reggie
Montgomery, Horace
Marshall, Morris Marshall,
had a Panther hit apiece.
Also playing for Perry where
Cedric Little,Robert
Morgan, William Alford,
Nick Fielder, Glenn Mar
shall, and Bryan Walston.
Keith Madden got the only
Brave hit. The Panthers had
their own way in this contest.
"A” LEAGUE
ACTION
Darts Lose 13-9
Perry Darts were beaten
13 to 9 in an "A" league
game. Warner Robins
Redlegs were the victors.
Perry’s I eon Green was the
hard luck loser as he only
gave up four hits. Anderson
of the Redlegs picked up the
win. The Redlegs Mike Cole
led them with 2 for 4. leon
Green and Ricky Rawls each
were 2 for 3. Green hit a
home run and a double.
Rawls rapped a triple and a
double. Carl Walker and
I .an y Brooks hit doubles.
Norbert Jackson had a base
hit for Perry. Green struck
out ten Redlegs.
Panthers Nip WR
Perry’s “A” league
Panthers downed the
Warner Robins Phillies 5 to
4. It was a close hard fought
game. Perry had an uprising
in the fourth scoring all of
their runs in that inning.
John Brasch absorbed the
Phillie loss. Perry had three
hits provided by Chris Mit
chell. Alvin Boone and Doug
Hill. Gerry Brantley, John
Brasch and Bill Douglas got
the only Phillie Hits. Other
Panther players were.

Andrews Blanks Falcons
On Brilliant One-Hitter
Joe Andrews was
magnificent in pitching a
one-hitter for his Sr. league
Perry Cougars to win 4 to 0
over the Warner Robins
Falcons. Andrews struck out
twelve, walked two and hit
one in his route going job.
Ferry managed six hits in
the game Jaru Ash and Dean
Bramlett led the Cougars
with two hits apiece. A1
Solcman and Doug Rembisz
aided the Perry win with a
hit each. Bobby Brown, Mo
Wright, Earl Brown, Joe
Andrews, Wayne Roberts
and David Thomas played
their part in the Cougar
victory.
Astros Beat
Cougars 8-5
In Sr. league Baseball for
Youth action the Warner
Robins Astros won over
Perry’s Cougars 8 to 5.
Clubbing homers in the
contest were Cougars Earl
Brown and Jaru Ash along
with Mike Roberts of the
Astros. Earl Brown and Jaru
Ash led the Cougars with 2
hits each. Jerry Barnes, Joe
Andrews and Dean Bramlett
had a Cougar hit. Playing in
the game for Perry also were
David Thomas, Wayne
Roberts, Mo Wright , Doug
Remgisz, Dale Willard,
Bobby Brown, and Ixirry
Bonner. Mike Roberts led
the Astros with 3 for 4.

Cougars 9-2
The Warner Robins Bears
beat the Perry Cougars in a
Sr. league game 9 to 2. Joe
Sumrall of the Bears spun a
nifty one-hitter against the
Cougars as he struck out
eleven, walked one and hit
two. Sumrall got a big assist
from teammate Doug
Johnson who hit a two run
homer, went 2 for 3 and
scored 3 runs. Getting the
sole Cougar hit was
Bonner. Cougars in the
lineup were Jaru Ash, Bobby
Brown, Jerry Barnes, Dean
Bramlett, Earl Brown, Doug
Rembisz, Joe Andrews,
Wayne Roberts, A1 Soloman,
Dale Willard, David Thomas
and Steve Miller.
Eagles Edge
Bombers 30-29
In a real stemwinder of a
girls softball game our Perry
T-league Eagles held on to
defeat the Bonaire Bombers
by a 30 to 29 count. Starring
for the Eagles were Naomi
Soloman with 5 big hits.
Vivian Mitchell, Veronda
Griffin, Pamela Walker,
Joni Hickey, Patricia Stokes,
Rowena Felder and Regina
Jackson were getting four
hits each to aid the Perry
cause. Those with three hits

were Clarissa Woodard,
Ruby Lane and Sharon
Nobles. Beverly McGhee and
Alnita Lasseter each had a
Perry hit. Perry rapped out
44 base hits in the game. The
Bombers were led by several
players with 4 for 4.
Eagles Bop Devils
Twelve Perry T-league
Eagles did tremendous job
of stopping the Warner
Robins Devils in a girls
softball game by a score of 30
to 11. The game was called
after 3 innings with Perry
way out in front. In the
contest Perry rocked out
some 32 base hits.
Astros Drop Thriller
Perry’s “B” league Astros
lost a close game to Cen
terville’s Demons 24 to 22.
Perry out hit the Demons 16
to 14 but wound up two runs
short. Perry’s Letitia Rag in
led her Astros with 3 hits.

Cassandra Solomon, Deidra
Radford and Terrylynn
Dixon had 2 hits each. Cheryl
Williams aided with a hit.
Also playing for Perry were

Jets Ground Perry
Warner Robins swift flying
Jets grounded Perry’s
Pantherettes in a girl’s “A”
league softball game. It was
Jets 13 and Perry gals 3.
Debra Lumpkin and Dana
Ross each had a base rap for
Perry - their only two
safeties. The Jets crashed 13
hits with Paula Avant and
Brenda Ford getting 3 each.
Besides Debra and Dana
other Perry gals playing
were Joy Harper, Sandra
Davis, Denise Jackson, Kim
Allen, Debbie Quesenberry,
Miriam Mitchell, Marilvn
Durham, Sharon Askew,
Regina Mobley, Shirley
Rumph, Camille Sumner and

Pantherettes Roar
The girls softball Angels
poured it on the Pantherettes
of Perry 21 to 5 in an “A”
league contest. Debra
Lumpkin led the Perry group
with two hits. Joy Harper,
Denise Jackson, Kim Allen,
Shirley Rumph, Dana Ross
and Myrtice Walker each
had a hit for Perry. Other
Pantherettes in the game
were Debbie Quesenberry,
Regina Mobley and Camille
Sumner. Several Angel
players had 2 hits each.
Perry was out hit 14 to 8.
Demons Romp 13-3
Centerville’s Demons beat
the Perry Pantherettes in an
“A” leage girls softball
game by a 13 to 3 score.
Perry was outhit 13 to 9. The
winning pitcher was Jan
Starley for the Demons and
the loser, for Perry, was
Debra Lumpkin. The leading
hitters for Perry were
Camille Sumner and Myr
tice Walker each with 2 for 3.
The Demons were led by
Cindy Helms with 3 for 4 and
Jan Starley’s 3 for 3.
Bearcats Explode
Perry’s Jr. league
Bearcats downed the
Bonaire Bombers in a girls
softball game by 15 to 9.
Bearcats collected 20 hits to
the Bombers 12. The score
was tied 8 to 8 after six but
the Perry gals broke it open
in the 7th with a seven run
outburst. Perry has several
female Babe Ruth’s or
“Hammers” as Ethel Scott
belted two homers in the
game, Corliss McGhee,
Barbara Kendrick and
Vivian Harding each rapped
a homer. Perry was led by
Carolyn Askew with 4 for 5
and Corliss McGhee with 3
for 4.
Bearcats
In a Jr. league girls soft
ball game the Perry Bear
cats got whipped by the
Centerville Demons 16 to 12.
Perry’s leading hitter was
Vanessa Durham with 3 for 2
and she was closely followed
by Corliss McGhee with 2
hits. Maula Grace, Carolyn
Askew, Michelle Hill, Shirley
Askew, Wanda Clarington,
Monica Mobley and Ethel
Scott each had a hit. Perry’s
Loretta Lasseter, Vivian
Askew, Rosemary McGhee,
Linda Rawls, Shershina
Jackson, Barbara Kendrick
were players in this game.
Sheila Giddeas and Gail
Lord had three hits each to
lead the Demon attack. The
hits 13 for the Demons and 10
for Perry related pretty
evenly to the final score.

Wildcats Trimmed
The Warner Robins Dozens
beat the Perry Wildcats in a
Sr. league girls softball
game 14 to 3. The Dozens
ripped off 16 hits which was
exactly double what Perry
got. Juanita Cunningham
was the winning Dozens
hurler. Georgia Ragin was
stuck with the Perry loss.
One Perry bright spot was
the homers hit by Yvonne
and Vanna Lum
pkin. Perry coaches said the
Dozen pitcher was excellent
and the Dozen infield
showed a lot of ability to fire
the ball to first stopping all
efforts by Perry. Perry was
led by Yvonne Lawson with 3
for 3 and Gwendolyn Rawls
with 2 for 3. Evelyn Sisson
and Ann Campbell had three
hits apiece for the Dozens.
