Kallin of Miami. Fla., for merly of Ferry. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen P. Whipple of Perry. A prelude of nuptial selections was presented by Mrs. Hoy Gossett, organist, I l and she accompanied G. Francis Nunn, soloist. The Rev. J. B. Smith assisted by the Rev. Elick Bullington performed the double ring ceremony. The young couple spoke their vows before an altar background of greenery and burning tapers centered by a large floral arrangement of white chrysanthemums and gladioli. Allen P. Whipple was his son’s best man. Usher groomsmen were Don Moody, John McKinney, Rodney Lowe, and Billy Hulbert of Ferry; Ted Tallin of Miami, Fla. brother of the bride, and Guy Pearson of Ft. Valley. Master Jimmy Hinkle of Perry was ring bearer. Serving as the bride’s maid of honor was the groom’s sister, Miss Lane Whipple. She wore a floor length gown of pink chiffon over taffeta with long sheer sleeves. The collar and waistline were trimmed with a band of lace. She carried a nosegay of pink sweetheart roses, pixie carnations and gypsophilia. The bridesmaids were Miss Whipple, sister of the groom; Miss Beth Hhodarmer, Miss Beverly Roper, Miss Susan Ray, Miss Marsha Green, all of Perry and Miss Hilda Cooper of Marietta. Little Miss Amy Trunnel of Cochran was flower girl. They wore dresses fashioned after that of the honor attendant. The bride was escorted to the altar by her father, by whom she was given in marriage and her beauty was accentuated by her bridal gown of white organza and Chantilly lace, with the lace forming the bodice and stand up collar and the long full sleeves. The front of the skirt was trimmed with lace appliques. Her veil of illusion was attached to a band of seed pearls. She carried a nosegay of bridal roses, stepanotis and gypsophelia. For her daughter’s wed ding Mrs. Tallin chose a pink knit dress, matching ac cessories and a pink cym bidium orchid. Mrs. Whipple, mother of the groom, wore a pink model and accessories and she pinned a pink cymbidium orchid corsage at her shoulder. The groom’s grand mothers, Mrs. J. W. Trunnel, Sr. of Cochran and Mrs. A .P. Whipple, Sr. of Perry chose to wear dresses in shades of blue and each wore a white carnation corsage. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the social hall of the church for the large number of relatives and guests. Mrs. W. K. Whipple greeted the guests and presented them to the receiving line of the bridal party. Mrs. Jim Hinkle of Perry invited the guests to register in the bride’s book. Miss Madelyn Stocks, Miss Diane Mayo, and Miss Patti Dayton served the wedding cake after the newlyweds had cut the first slice. Assisting in serving were Mrs. Harvey Dykes, Mrs. Richard Ray, Mrs. C. C. Pierce, Jr., and Mrs. Elwyn McKinney. The bride’s table, laid with a white cloth, held the four tiered columed cake. It was embosed in white orchids and roses and topped with a pair of doves. Arrangements of mixed summer flowers and candelabra with pink tapers completed the decorations on the bride's table and refreshment tables. After the reception, the couple left for a short wedding trip to Atlanta. For traveling, the bride selected a red and white checked outfit and she pinned an orchid at her shoulder. Wynne, Sr. of Griffin; Dr. and Mrs. Morgan Wynn of Business Women Hold Annual Picnic Here The Perry Business Women’s Club held their annual picnic at the Ochlahatchee Club House, July 13th, 1972. Attendance was very good. The food was delicious and was enjoyed by all. The tables were beautifully decorated with ivy and marigolds. Bruce Fisher and Neal Morris presented an in teresting program of music and songs. Gifts were presented to each as a token of appreciation from the club. The next meeting will be held on August 10, 1972, 7:30 p.m, at the Oclahatehee Club House. Grovania Church Sets Upbuilding Services Services will be held for the upbuilding of the church at Free Providence Baptist Church of Grovania on Sunday, July 23rd at 3 p.m. Rev. Harry Daniels will be the speaker coming from the Church of Christ of Ft. Valley. Sponsor, Deacon Earl Ross, Rev. A. G. Tharpe, Paste Sister, Annie Lane, secretary and Sister Norma Jean Taylor, reporter. Miss Nation Honored With Kitchen Shower On June 27th Mrs. A. E. Harris, Mrs. Paul Barrett and Mrs. Lynward Barrett were hostesses for a kitchen shower, given at the home of Mrs. A. E. Harris. Guests were delightfully en tertained with various games. Tallin of Union, N.J. Events surrounding the Fallin-Whipple wedding were a luncheon at the New Perry Hotel on July 5 with Mrs. William Suber and Mrs. John Houser as hostesses. Covers were laid for Miss Tallin, Mrs. Aubrey Tallin, Mrs. Allen Whipple, Mrs. Evelyn Whipple, Misses and Laura Whipple. Mrs. William J. Rodarmer was hostess for the bridesmaids’ luncheon at the New Perry Hotel on July 7. Miss Fallin presented opal necklaces to her attendants. Friends of Miss Fallin entertained for her at a Bachelorette party at the Regency in Atlanta on July 1. Mrs. C. C. Pierce, Jr., Mrs. Fryer and Mrs. Tom Cater were hostesses at a miscellaneous shower honoring Miss Fallin at Mrs. Pierce’s home on July 3. The New Perry Hotel, Garden Room, formed the setting for the rehersal dinner on Friday evening preceding the wedding rehersal at the church. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Whipple and Mrs. Evelyn T. Whipple were hosts to the members of the wedding party and out of town guests. The groom elect presented gifts to his attendants at the dinner. The lovely flowers in the table decorations were provided by Mrs. Frank McVay of Cochran, great aunt of the groom-elect and sister of Mrs. Evelyn T. Whipple. Following the wedding and reception on Saturday, the out of town guests were invited to the home of Mrs. Evelyn T. Whipple on Washington Street for a buffet supper. • I, , i iiit . Nation of Perry became the bride of Robert Eugene Graham, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Graham of Perry, Saturday July 1, 1972. The wedding was solemnized at 7:30 in the evening at The First Baptist Church in Perry. The impressive ceremony was performed by Rev. James M. Teresi. Mr. Bob Brewer, soloist, sang Whither Thy Goest, ac companied by organist, cousin of the bride, Miss Crystal Burt of Athens, Ga. The couple exchanged their vows before a can dlelight setting of white tapers and green palms, with arrangements of white gladioli. Palms were placed at intervals. The family pews were marked with white satin bows and emerald foliage. The groom chose his father as best man. Ushers were Douglas Nation, , brother of the bride, Add Harris, Lynward Barrett, and Johnny Forehand, all of Perry. Miss Gay Nation, sister of the bride, was the bride’s Maid of Honor. She wore a dress of light blue shadolon over satin with white lace along empire lines. The bridesmaids, Miss Donna Nation, sister of the bride, and Judy Andel of Perry, wore dresses fashioned after that of the honor attendant, in the same shade of blue. Each carried cascade bouquets of pink and rose pink asters and blue gyp sophelia with matching ribbons. Entering the sanctuary with her father who gave her in marriage, the bride was radiant in her floor length gown of white miracle whip over white satin, featuring an empire design with bodice trimmed with lace and pearls. Sleeves were of full length featuring lace ap plique from wrist to elbow and three rows of pearls. The front of the skirt was trimmed with matching lace appliqued and rows of pearls. The floor length mantilla of double illusion was trimmed with lace. She carried a bouquet of oval cluster of pompoms and stephanotis centered with a regal orchid. For her daughter’s wed ding, Mrs. Nation wore a blue crepe trimmed in matching lace and a corsage or white orchids. Mrs. Graham, mother of the groom, chose a dress of peach lace knit, with a corsage of white orchids. The bride’s Grandmothers wore hues of blue and pink, with the groom’s Grand mother wearing light green each adorned with double white carnation corsages. Following the ceremony, the guests were invited to the church social hall where Mr. and Mrs. Nation entertained with a reception. The bride’s table covered with a white satin cloth and decorated with a candelabra arrangement of white carnations, mums, snap dragon, and gypsophelia, centering the table was a three tierd all white wedding cake. It was embossed with flowers and swans with the bride and groom setting upon four swan columns. Miss Janemarie Adkins, cousin of the bride, cut and served the cake assisted by Pat Oliver, cousin of the groom. The refreshment table was overlaid with white satin decorated with candelabra arrangements. Punch was served from a silver punch bowl. Mrs. Johnny Forehand of Perry invited the guests to register at the bride’s book table laid with white satin which held a feathered pen and a cupid figurine holder with a burning taper. Others assisting in en tertaining were Miss Kathy Adkins, Tonia Bonner, Sandra King, Mrs. Will Adkins and Mrs. Jeffrey Adkins. The bride chose as her going away attire a two piece light blue knit suit with white accessories. The couple departed shortly after the reception for a honeymoon in Tennessee. Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Edd Adkins, Mrs. Fred Nation, Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Nation, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moon and Clay all of Crawford, Ga. Mr. Ray Wheless of Sandy Cross, Ga. and Mr. and Mrs. Al John son, Marylin and Madelyn of Lexington, Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nation, Mr. Dennis Nation, Miss Mary Ann Mesh, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Oliver and Pat all from Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. L. E. Avant and Mrs. Harold Jowers, Van and Gary of Fitzgerald, Georgia. A bridemaid’s luncheon was given by Mrs. Bill Overton and Mrs. David Coley at the New Perry Hotel for the bride-elect. Miss Nation presented engraved charms and braclets to her attendants. Covers were laid for Mrs. Harold Nation, Mrs. Robert Graham, Miss Gay Nation, Miss Donna Nation, Miss Judy Andel, the honoree and hostesses. The hostesses presented the bride-elect with a bridal knife. Included in the series of prenuptial events surrounding the Nation- Graham wedding was the rehearsal dinner Friday evening at the New Perry Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Graham were host and hostess. Adorning the center of the table was a beautiful floral arrangement. Nineteen members of the wedding party and guests attended. • Bridal parties for the bride-elect was a miscellaneous shower on June 3rd, given by Mrs. Eddie Saxon and Mrs. Dolphus Burt at the country club house in Crawford, Ga. The hostess gift was a white blanket. Mrs. Edward Bonner and Mrs. David Bonner en tertained bride-elect with a miscellaneous shower on June 14th at Travelodge Conference Room. The honoree was presented a set of scales. Mrs. Henry Andel and Judy honored the bride-elect with a lingerie shower on the 21st of June. The event was in a casual setting with honoree receiving many beautiful items for her wedding trousseau. On June 23rd Miss Nation was honored with a miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. Will Adkins, Janemarie, and Kathy, at the home of the hostesses. The hostesses presented the bride-elect with a selection of her everyday china.
