DISTRICT 100 Two Perry political newcomers are seeking the post of State Rep. from the newly created district lUU, which includes Perry and the southern portion of Houston County, a portion of Macon County and ail of Schley County. Both candidates are running in the Democratic primary. STATESENATOR The Democratic side of the race for Senator of the 18th Senatorial District, which includes Houston Peach and Crawford Counties, has developed into a tight race between incumbent Stanley Smith of Perry and Warner Robins businessmen Ed Barker. Barker has served up a real challenge to Smith as he has waged an active campaign in all three counties. Smith, a long time power and close associate of Lt. Gov. Lester Maddox, is running on his past record in the State Senate. The race will probably be a close one. The winner of the Democratic Senate race will be challenged by Warner Robins businessman Robert A. (Tony) Robbins, who is seeking that seat in the Republician primary unopposed.
