Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Hamsley
spent Saturday through
Wednesday in Columbia,
South Carolina with their
grandchildren, Patrice,
Amanda, Lori and Angie while
Joanne Hamsley flew to
Atlanta on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Huff and
their granddaughter, Melanie,
visited Sunday with Mr. Huff's
uncle and his wife, Mr. and
Mrs. Isaac Berry in Cooper
and his aunts, Mrs. John Hall
and Mrs. Mary Lou Hopkins in
Milledgeville.
The Hayneville-Grovania
Fire Department would like to
thank everyone who turned
out Saturday night to make
our fire show a big success
and special appreciation to all
who gave of their lime and
talents unselfishly to help put
the show on, especially all the
ladies who donated the baked
goods for the sale.
Mr. and Mrs. M.F. Mc-
Cormick spent Sunday
through Wednesday fishing in
Ulelaka, Florida. I understand
they really enjoyed them
selves and caught many nice
fish!
Andy Fowler was feted with
a surprise birthday party by
his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin Fowler at their home
Monday evening. The guests
all enjoyed a cook-out supper
and then Andy opened many
nice gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Bennie
Williams and Wylene traveled
to Eastman Sunday for a joint
birthday dinner for Mr.
Williams and his sister, Mrs.
Gladys Rogers. They were
joined in the celebration by
their three sisters, Mrs. Joyce
Parker, Mrs. Clara Mae
Lewis, both from Eastman,
and Mrs. Wylene Lamkin
from Leesburg and their
families.

Club Holds
Meeting
Rose Cook
Newcomers Club of Perry
held their regular meeting last
week and were happy to have
a number of new people in
attendance. We think our
guests had a good time and we
hope they will come again and
bring their friends.
A.J. Bennett of Red and
White food market was our
guest speaker and his topic
was “What to look for in
buying meat". He gave us
many useful hints on how to
serve our families better
meats at cheaper prices and
he answered many questions
from the audience. Af
terwards he joined us in
refreshments served by Fran
DeCubellis, Peggy Close and
Rose Cook,
Sue Roth won the door prize
for the month which was a .
year's subscription to The#
Houston Home Journal.

ticipation in our program.
