Board of education of Houston
County to make grants for the pur
pose of educating or training certain
handicapped citizens of Houston
County; to provide for the submis
sion of this amendment for ratifica
tion or rejection; and for other pur
poses.

Section I. Article VIII, Section
XIII, Paragraph 1 of the Constitution
is hereby amended by adding a new
paragraph at the end thereof to read
"Beginning January I, 1976,
the Board of Education of Hous
ton COunty shall be authorized to
grant to the parents or guardians,
or directly to the private educa
tional institution, of any educable
or trainable mentally retarded or
hearing impaired or physically
handicapped resident of Houston
County, who is 25 years of age
or less, a grant when such resi
lient is attending a private educa
tional institution. Such grants
shall be made from the funds
raised for the maintenance and
suppoit of the public educational
system of Houston County. The
, Board of Education of Houston
COunty shall establish minimum
standards which must be maintain
ed by private educational institu
. lions which are attended by such
▼ fVsidenls in order for the appli
cant for such a grant to be en
titled to receive same. In addition,
the Board of 1 ducalion is autho
rized to establish and promulgate
such titles and regulations as they
deem necessary relating to the
administration of this paragraph.”
Section 2. Ihe above proposed
amendment to the C onstitution shall
be published and submitted as pro
vided in Article XIII. Section 1,
•Paragraph I of the Constitution of
-Georgia of 1945. as amended.

State.

a banking corporation organized

transact a general banking

application for an amendment to
