Mrs. William Perry Moore
Oct. 19 Perry Ceremony
Unites Holmes-Moore
Miss Jane Lee Holmes and
William Perry Moore were
united in marriage October 19,
1974, at the Christ’s Sanctified
Holy Church at Perry. The
bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. H.A Holmes of
Decatur and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry
Jackson Moore of Leesburg.
The Rev. Earnest Cory
officiated at the six o’clock
ceremony in the sanctuary of
the church which was
decorated with an archway of
greenery and two baskets of'
while lillies of the valley
Vocal music was provided by
Ihe Believers and the Atlanta
Choir.
Mr Moore stood with his son
as best man and ushers were
David Anderson, Clarence
Williams, 111, Mark Grey,
Joey Bush and Harold David
Holmes, brother of the bride
Miss Pamela Rodgers of
Decatur served the bride as
maid of honor. The other
attendants were Miss Diane
Moore of Albany, sister of the
groom, and Mrs. Beth Sch
merhorn of Norfolk, Va.,
cousin of the bride Junior
bridesmaids were Misses
Loretta and Barbara Hatcher
of Albany, cousins of the
bride.
The honor attendant wore
an orange crepe dress trim
med with white chantilly lace
made along the same lines as
the bride's dress. Her hair
piece was a bow with orange
net and she carried a cascade
of orange and white car-
nations. The dresses of the
other attendants were styled
the same as the honor at
tendant in shrimp crepe.
The bride, given in
marriage by her father, was
lovely in her formal gown of
imported silk organza ac
cented with Chantilly lace.
The highrise bodice was
enhanced with a re
embroidered ribbed yoke
accented with miniature self
covered buttons and Chantilly
lace and by a satin ribbon at
the waist. Lace appliques and
accordian pleated lace ruffles
(rimmed the bodice, high old
fashioned neckline and collar.
The long A-line skirt which
featured a set-in chapel length
train was designed with
vertical rows of Chantilly
lace. The full bishop sleeves of
sheer organza ended in wide
cuffs of matching lace and
extended into a flared frill of
organza edged with lace over
(he hands. Completing the
ensemble was her chapel
lenglh mantilla of imported
silk illusion which was also
edged in Chantilly lace and
attached to an old fashioned
capulet of matching lace and
fresh flowers. She carried a
cascade bouquet of white
flowers centered with an
orchid. As the bride preceded
down the aisle she gave a long
stem rose to her mother and to
(he mother of the groom as
they left (he sanctuary.
For her daughter’s wedding,
Mrs Holmes chose a floor

Flickering candles and old
fashioned music sounded the
end to a successful Founders
Day at County Line Church
Sunday. The program began
Sunday morning with a
welcome by Ralph Brown and
special songs by the In
termediate girls choral group.
A history of the church from
1980 was read by Elaine
Wilson and the morning
message was brought by Rev.
Speight, a former pastor of the
church. Dinner was served at
noon and a lime of fellowship
was enjoyed by all. Sunday
night service was conducted
entirely without electricity.
The Young Adult class
would like to thank the
Unadilla Jaycees and
everyone else who helped to
make the softball tournament
such a success. The aim was
to raise money for a new
social hall and the Young
Adults are to be commended
for working so hard to raise
the money ahead of time to
pay for the hall instead of
going in debt. Let's all pitch in
and give them a hand.

length pale green dress of knit
and she also had a green or
chid corsage.
A reception was held im
mediately following the
ceremony in the fellowship
hall of the church.
The bride’s table, covered
with a white lace imported
cloth, held the four tiered
wedding cake using the same
decorations as used for the
25th wedding anniversary of
the bride’s parents. Fresh
flowers completed the table
decorations.
Mrs. David Hatcher and
Mrs. R.L. Mustin, aunts of the
bride, cut and served the cake.
Mrs. William Todd, Miss
Sharon Arcaneaux and Mrs.
Farrell Holmes assisted in
serving and entertaining.
When the couple left for a
wedding trip to Gatlinburg,
Tenn., the bride was wearing
a blue knit dress with a cape,
navy accessories, and the
orchid from her bouquet. Mr.
and Mrs. Moore will reside at
2505 Columbia Drive, Decatur.
A rehearsal dinner was
given by the groom’s parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Moore, in the
church cafeteria on Friday
evening preceding the
ceremony. The bride and
groom presented gifts of
appreciation to their at
tendants at the dinner,
Mr and Mrs. W H Brannen
had as weekend guests Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Brannen,
Mary, Jane, Ann and John
Brannen, all of Valdosta, Ga.
We are happy to report that
Mrs. Preston Entrekin, Sr., is
home after several days spent
in the Taylor Memorial
Hospital, Hurry and get well,
Betty; we miss you!
Mrs. N.B. Goss, Sr., had as
weekend guest her sister, Mrs.
Ouida Fellows, of Macon.
Athens Nelson is a patient in
the Riverside Hospital in
Montezuma.
A Hoda party was given
by Mrs. Glenn Byers Saturday
night. Mrs. Marie Helms of
Lizella was the demonstrator
and the guest list included

her home Monday after
visiting with her sister, Mrs.
M.H. Mulkey and Mr. Mulkey
for two weeks.
