Sergeant has decided that he
wants to test his physical
fitness with a 400-mile bicycle
hike across Georgia from
Cleveland, Tennessee, to Saint
Simons Island. The trip will
lake place in mid-July and will
take eight days.
TSgt Larry Daniels of the
Strategic Air Command's 19th
Bombardment Wing will be
accompanied by members of
the Church of God of
Prophecy They plan to cycle
through 17 county seats
enroute across Georgia,
leaving behind 35 personalized
copies of the Bible to each
designated mayor and county
official as a token “of the
Bible’s place in government.”
A highlight of the trip will be
a presentation of a Bibie to
Georgia Governor George
Busbee on the steps of the
state capitol building in
Atlanta, July 14. at 11:30A,M,
The cyclers will try to
average about 50 miles per
day, according to Sgt. Daniels.
A gospel group, the World
Challenge Singers, will travel
in advance of the cyclers and
will carry their luggage The
cyclers plan to set up a rally
each night in a school, church,
civic center or football field,
depending on the situation
Sgt Daniels, who serves as
physical conditioning expert
for the trip is still accepting
participants.
“Anyone interested in
joining us may do so,
providing they adhere to the
principles behind why we are
HOUSTON HOME JOURNAL THURS.,
doing it. It’s a trip of
dedication and everyone must
start now by getting in shape
Thirty miles of cycling a week
will be necessary if a person
expects to make it. This allows
us two months of preparation.
"Our theme is a return to
the principles this great
country were founded on. We
hope to call to the attention of
the American people the need
for the Bible in government,
home and school, and feel it
should be used as a standard
for every effort in world
peace.”
