Day Awards Included in the
presentations were fourteen
awards from the business
Community and civic clubs,

Mrs Trudie Warren of the
Perry Business Women’s Club
presented the club’s Typing 1
award to Lisa Posey. Nancy
Shelton was chosen as the Best
All Bound Business student
Miss Barbara Jones presented
the Pilot Club scholarship

The Daughters of the
.Confederacy gave several

Art Festival Set
The Perry Art Club proudly presents its Spring Art Festival on May 30 from
9:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. and May 31 from 9:30 A.M. to 12 noon at The Bank of Perry.
Included in the exhibit will be works from former and present students such as

Headmaster Aaron Turner,
who made two an
nouncements
Turner announced that
Westfield had twenty students
due recognition for high
performance in the N.E.D.T.
qualifying tests One hundred
and eighty Westfield students
in grades seven through ten
took the exam. Twenty
students scored above the 90th
percentile They included;
Marty Dominy, and Audrey hoggins. Fourth row, left to

Janna Gray announced that
senior Melanie Rogers was
chosen Cheerleader of the
Year by her peers. Teacher
l-arry Kelly gave a special
attendance award to a student
who had not missed a day of
school since early in the first
grade- Chuck Wantland.
Kelly, as Math teacher, then
presented math awards.
Algebra I winners were Jeff
Evans, Steve Grantham,
Grade Wantland, and Billy
Jones. Algebra II winner was
Vince Jones. Geometry
winners were Doris Bell,
Marty Dominy, and Dianne
Langston. Calculus winners
were Bill Rigdon and Lane
Chapman.
Next on the podium was
Sciences teacher Earl Mar
shall. Marshall awarded
Physiology honors to Grier
Hicks and Audrey Loggins.
BSCS Biology winners were
Dianne Langston, Lesley
Thomson, and Cathy Cawthon.
Physical Science winners
were Lee Bledsoe and Doris
Bell Chemistry recipients

The Business Awards were
presented by Mrs. Willie
Rhodarmer Typing II awards
went to Janice Satterfield,
Paul Middlebrooks, and Lisa
Posey. Typing I awards were
given to Nancy Shelton, Lynn
White, and Vince Jones.
Accounting awards went to
Nena Turner. Leslie Cox, and
Donnie Fountain. The Con
sumer Math awards went to
Melanie Rogers and Mike
Grantham.
Social Science awards were
presented by teacher Percy
Hardy. World Geography
honors went to Lee Bledsoe,
Denise Goodroe, and Grade
Wantland American History
honors went to Alice Roberts,
Janice Satterfield, and Patsy
Pratt Psychology awards
were given to Jody Watts and
Steve Rodgers Government
honors went to Lane Chap

Perry High Teacher
Jeonne McDonald Named
State VOCA Chairwoman
Perry High teacher Mrs.
Jeanne McDonald was
recently elected Chairman of
the State Board of Directors
for VOCA Clubs of Georgia for
the 1975*76 year. Her election
came at the recent VOCA
convention at St. Simons
Island off the Georgia coast,
VOCA is the Vocational
Opportunity Clubs of
America. The Perry High
chapter also captured several
awards at the state con
vention, including the Most
Improved Chapter award.
In 1973-74 Mrs. McDonald
was a member of the State
Board of Directors and was
Chairman of Region Six
(Middle Georgia). She has
been VOCA and CVAE
(Coordinated Vocational-
Academic Education) teacher
at Perry High for four years.
She formerly taught Biology
for five years and was
Chairwoman of the Science
department at PHS for two
years.
Mrs. McDonald is a native
of Perry and as a member of
the Akikta Club, was the
organization’s Outstanding
Member for 1972. She is a
former “Miss Perry" and is
married to Robert McDonald,
chief of Robins AFB
Photographic Services. They
have three daughters- Karen
-14; Melanie-13; and Cindy-11.

is food manager at PJHS, and Mrs. Torrance is

Elects Officers
Mrs. Theresa Hammock,
food manager at Perry Junior
High, served as the President
of the Houston County School
Food Association this year. At
a recent meeting she turned
over the gavel of leadership to
Mrs. Janie Torrance, in
coming President. Others
elected to serve are:
Elizabeth Payne, President
Elect from Centerville
Elementary; Mary Guyer,
Secretary from Warner
Robins Jr. High; and Myra
Taylor, Treasurer from Park
wood Elementary. Mrs.
Torrance is food manager at
Russell Elementary.
University of Georgia, and
Georgia Southern. The Mc-
Donalds are active members
of the Perry First Baptist
Church.

Mr. Ben Dickinson, retired
principal from Rumble Jr.
High, installed the new of
ficers and presented Esrnalee
Brown, manager of the
Rumble Jr. High Cafeteria
with a parting gift of ap
preciation. Mrs. Brown had to
retire due to poor health.
School is quickly coming to
an end. During the last two
weeks each individual school
will plan its own menus. This
gives the manager an op
portunity to use the U.S.D.A.
donated foods alloted to the
school and also to clear out the
storage room. Food is not left
in the storage areas over the
summer,
