The Memorial Heights
Baptist Church was the setting
for the April 27 wedding of
Miss Bonnie Sue Locke and
Dr. Charlie Wilson Dean.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Millard
Locke of Perry and the
bridegroom’s parents are Mr.
and Mrs. John Paul Dean of
Elko.
The Rev. Tom Harmon
officiated at the ceremony.
Reginald Gattie, organist,
presented a program of
wedding music and ac
companied the Rev. James D.
Boss as he sang “Whither
Thou Goest” and “The
Wedding Prayer”.
Wallace Dean, brother of
the groom, was best man.
Ushers were A1 Locke, brother
of the bride; Steve Dean,
brother of the groom; and
Joey Mann.
The bride chose Mrs. Jerry
Sorrells of Winder as her
matron of honor. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Edwin Markert,
Jr., of Warner Robins, cousin
of the bride; Mrs. Bill Irwin of
Atlanta; and Miss Janice
Winkler of Atlanta. They were
dressed alike in long, peach
and white knit dresses. They
wore white shortie gloves and
carried a bouquet of spring
flowers.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father. She
was lovely in her gown which
featured an empire waist with
long, full sleeves of lace. The
flared skirt was accented with
appliques of lace. Her floor
length train was attached at
the empire waist with a
button-on belt. She wore a
floor length mantilla with lace
surrounding the entire
mantilla and blusher. She
carried a bouquet of peach
and white roses showered with
stephanotis.
Mrs. Locke, mother of the
bride, wore a dress of mint
green knit with chiffon
sleeves. She wore matching
accessories and an orchid
corsage. For her son’s wed
ding, Mrs. Dean wore a two
piece pink knit dress with bone
accessories. She wore an
orchid corsage.
A reception followed at
Ochlahatchee Club House.
Guests were registered by
Mrs. Wallace Dean.
The punch table, covered in
lace, held a silver punch bowl
and a candlelabra with an
arrangement of spring
flowers. The four tiered cake
was embossed with peach and
white roses. Mrs. Jerome
Sutton and Miss Lisa
Culpepper served. Miss Linda
Dean gave out rice bags
For a wedding trip to the
mountains of North Georgia
the bride chose a green, two
piece ensemble of knit with
white accessories. She wore
an orchid corsage.
The newlyweds are residing
in Fort Valley.
PARTIES
On Saturday, March 8, Miss
Locke was honored with a
miscellaneous shower at the
home of Mrs. Clarece Hunt on
Marsha Drive. Mrs. Montine
Brown assisted in this
delightful occasion. About 12

A miscellaneous shower was
given by Mrs. Elmo Coleman
at her home on Lee Street,
Tuesday, March 11. Ten
guests enjoyed this occasion.
The gifts were presented to
Miss Locke in a “Honeymoon
Suitcase”.
On Friday, March 21, a
miscellaneous shower was
given at the Eastgate Bank
Community Room by Mrs.
Jerome Sutton, Mrs. Milton
Culpepper, Mrs. Ray Bowen,
Mrs. Buddy Avera and Mrs.
Mary Odom. The hostesses’
gift to Miss Locke was a crock
pot. About twenty enjoyed
games and refreshments.
The Bridesmaids’ Luncheon
was held in the Garden Room
at the New Perry Hotel. It was
given by Mrs. Sam King, Mrs.
Edwin Markert, Jr., Mrs.
Puckett Hall and Miss Laura
Hall on Saturday, April 19.
On Saturday evening, April
26, the wedding party enjoyed
a Rehearsal Dinner at the
home of the bride’s parents.
Kindergarten
Schedule
Released
Kindergarten classes will be
available during the 1975-76
school year for approximately
three hundred children in
Houston County. Anticipated
full day programs will be
financed by monies allocated
through recent state
legislation and by federal
assistance. Funds are not
available to provide a kin
dergarten program for all 5-
year old children. Those to
participate in the classes will
be selected as follows:
First priority: Children who
will be five years of age by
September 1,1975, who have a
mental, emotional or physical
handicap.
Second priority: Children
who will be five years of age
by September 1, 1975, who do
not have the readiness skills
for academic instruction
which are normally acquired
by the average 5-year old
* child.
1 Tests will be administered
' to each child who registers for
‘ the program. The neediest
i children will be given priority
with a cut-off at the maximum
! number of children the system
1 is allowed to serve.
* Parents interested in
i enrolling a child in this
■ program should secure an
application form from the
5 Board of Education Office in
Warner Robins, the Board of
Education Office in Perry, or
5 from the principal of any
* elementary school in the
s county. All completed forms
i must be returned by June 4,
