PWP Meets
The International
Chapter 549 of Parents
Without Partners met at
SAMBO'S Monday night
with 43 members present.
They welcomed ten new
members.
The speaker was Mr.
Otis Andrews, Chaplain of
Youth Development
Center in Macon, who gave
an excellent program.
Some of the events planned
for this week include a
hayride on Friday night at
home of Gene Brum
bad§h, Rt. 2, Perry; a
teen age party on Saturday
night at Ray Shell's; and
on Sunday night the club
will attend Sandy Valley
Baptist Church as a group.

Enjoy Meeting
The Spirit of Patritism
prevailed as members of
the Akikta Club were
entertained at the October
meeting by Mrs. Bobby
Brooks and Miss Nancy
Shelton. Continuing the
Bicentennial programs in
the Spirit of Enjoyment,
Mrs. Brooks, soloist and
narrator, and Miss
Shelton, pianist, trailed
through the 200 years of
our history in a beautifully
rendered program of
music.
The meeting was held at
the home of Mrs. Dan
Ariail in Country Club
Estates on Tuesday
evening, October 9,

Society and the Senior
Choir at Greater Union
deemed it fitting that she
be honored for her years of
service.

That Tuesday night Mrs.
Miller arrived as usual for
the choir rehearsal, and
the choir practiced two
selections. Upon the
request of Music Director
Hawkins, Mrs. Miller led
in song, "Jesus Is All The
World To Me", not
knowing the song was
being piped through
speakers to a waiting
audience in the church's
dining area.
Finally, she was coaxed
into the dining area where
her audience waited
patiently. The dining area
was beautifully decorated
in red, white and blue, the
tables clad in white with
ivy down the center
dawned with red lighted
candles.
A short program in
cluded greetings by Mrs.
Anna Lumpkin; Mrs.
Dilcle Willis introduced
Mrs. Beverly Glover who
brought an intriguing

Dinkins presented gifts to
Mrs. Miller. Pastor Glover
gave some highly in
spirational remarks to
Mrs. Miller and the groups
for sponsoring such an
event.
A tape recorder, along
with other gifts, was
presented to Mrs. Miller. A
very delicious buffet
luncheon was prepared.
Mrs. Miller's husband,
Mr. William Miller, and
daughter, Debora, along
with other relatives,
friends and well wishers,
were on hand to witness
this worthwhile event.
