Perry Scouts Attend Council Meeting
Four Boy Scouts from Troop 96 in Perry were present last week for the Perry City
Council meeting. Left to right are; leader Norm Owens, and Scouts David Arnall, Rob

Dairy Recipe Contest
Houston Recipe Winner
Places Third In Georgia
Mrs. Becky Gainous,
Houston County, was third
place winner In the state
finals Dairy Recipe
Contest. Becky had won at
District Level and com
peted with eight other
district winners at the
State Farmers Market in
Macon.
Mrs. Thelma Williams of
Blackshear was first place
winner with an orange
pineapple cake. Mrs.
Sandra Bernard of Monroe
was second place with a
butter brickie ice cream
recipe. Becky's fluffy
frozen peanut butter pie
which placed third, was
featured in last week's
Home Journal.

Spring Quarter Dean's
List, according to Dr. John
Martin, Vice President and
Dean of Faculfies.
In order to be placed on
the Dean's List, a student
must complete the quarter
with at least a 3.5 grade
point average out of a
possible 4.0.
West Georgia is a co

Helm Rites
Held Mon.
Walter Rufus Helm, 80,
of Perry died Friday June
18,1976 in a Macon hospital
after a lengthy Illness.
Services were held at 11
a.m. Monday June 21 in the
chapel of Kraft Funeral
Home in Columbia, Pa.
Burial was in Fairview
Cemetery. Wrightsville, Pa.
Mr. Helm, a native of
Pennsylvania, had lived in
Perry 10 years and was a
Methodist. He was a
retired civil service em
ployee and a Mason.
Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Flora A. Helm
of Perry; 4 daughters,
Mrs. Milton Helm of
Perry, Mrs. Ed Kreisir of
Columbia, Pa., Mrs. Harry
Maisel of Annapolis, Md.,
Mrs. Evelyn Rehn of
Lancaster, Pa., 1 son, Mr.
Benson Havel of Columbia,
Pa.; and a sister, Mrs.
Edna Stephens of
Columbia, Pa.
Watson-Hunt Funeral
Home had charge of
arrangements.

Martin, 87, died Friday
June 18, 1976 in a
Covington hospital after a
brief illness. Services were
held at 3 p.m. Saturday
June 19, In the chapel of
Jordan Funeral Home.
Burial was in Forsyth City
Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was a native
