Time Capsule’s
Location Secure
The exact location of
Perry's time capsule, in
front of City Hall, will be a
well-recorded fact after
Sunday's ceremonies.
Perry surveyor Richard
Jones and his crew have
scientifically determined
the exact longitude,
latitude, and Georgia
plane co-ordinates of the
location.
According to Mayor
The United States Marine Corps detachment from Albany, Georgia
presented its famous flag pageant last Saturday afternoon on the Houston
County Courthouse lawn. A 20-minute program of patriotic music was
presented, as a narrator traced the history of the development of the
American flag. As each flag was named, a Marine dressed in the branch’s
uniform of that time brought forth a copy of that period’s flag. The stirring
program closed with “America”, ‘‘The Star Spangled Banner”, and the
‘‘Marine Hymn”.
