Teen Os The Week
Westfield’s Lisa Posey
Dreams Os ( The Dance’
By Joe Hiett
Seventeen year old Lisa
Ann Posey dreams of a life
of hard work, long hours,
but one compensated with
glamour and other
benefits- professional
dancing. The blonde
haired beauty would like to
become a member of a
ballet company, to per
form on stage or television.
Lisa is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Posey,
and resides with her
parents at 1428 Elizabeth
Avenue. This week's Teen
Os The Week has one
sister, Sharon Posey
Lawhorn, 19, whoalso lives
in Perry. At the Elizabeth
Avenue home is also a four
year old black Cocker
Spaniel named "Scamp".
The Posey family came
to Perry twelve years ago
from Florida, although
immediately preceding the
move here was several
month's stay in Warner
Robins. Although a native
of the Sunshine State, Lisa
is definitely a Perryan and
enjoys life here.
Westfield High School
has had a prominent role in
the pretty young woman's
life the past few years.
Lisa graduated "cum
laude" from WHS in June,
and carried an A average.
Her favorite class was
Mrs. Willis Harrison's
English.
Active at her high
school, Lisa was Vice
President of the WHS Beta
Club the past two years,
and has been a Civinette
three years, as a senior
being elected district
Treasurer of the South
Georgia District.
As a senior, Lisa served
as a varsity football
cheerleader, and her
dancing ability proved
useful as she choreo
graphed a pompom
routine for her group.
Other sports-related
avocations included three
years on the WHS tennis
team, where she con
sidered her cross-court
forehand her best shot.

audition for a place in a

professionally dance,
possibly on television like
the Ernie Flatt Dancers on
the Carol Burnett Show."
Continuing, Miss Posey
said her most ac
complished style is "toe"
dancing, and lists that and
modern jazz as her
favorites. The limber
young lady admires
modern jazz, because "it
involves the entire body
more". Her talents led her
to choreograph the
sophomore servers' dance
at a WHS junior- senior
prom. 4Mb
A year or so at Macon
Junior College is in the
offing for Lisa, to gain a
Secretarial Science
degree, for something to
"fall back on" should the
dance dream's bubble
burst. But she adds, "If I
don't at least try to dance,
I know It'll always be
something I wanted to *’
have done."
Typical of the younger
student, Lisa also
professes a desire to
become either a fashion
buyer or a hair stylist. She
has no trouble reconciling
the variety of vocations,
since all involve use of
talent. And talented in
other fields, she Is, too,
capturing the Perry
Business Women's Club
Typing award two years in
a row.
Already a veteran of
dance appearances at such
places as the Grand Opera
House in Macon, and the
Del Ward TV show, the
blonde beauty aspires to a
vocation tough to attain.
But don't bet she will not
make it. Her combination
of looks, talent, and per
sistiveness are hard to
defeat. ~i
