Flint EMC
MEMBER-CONSUMERS:
Much of Flint’s power costs are determined by a
wholesale rate involving the peak demand use of
electricity during the hottest summer months.
This directly affects the rates you pay. To help hold
future increases to a minimum, Flint Members are
urged to reduce this peak demand by being ‘Watt
Wiser’....Try to use electricity systematically.
Wash and dry clothes in early morning, or at night,
Adjust air conditioners to a warmer set
ting.... especially when 88 degrees or higher is
forecast With planning, you can help slow the
trend to higher costs.

1 AM PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT MR. LAMAR KEENE.
I SR. HAS AGREED TO ACCEPT THE POSITION OF CHIEF
ADVISOR IN MY ADMINISTRATION. IF I AM ELECTED.
kr. keene, a veteran of over 30 years in law enforcement work,
served in the Houston County Sheriff’s Department under the past
three sheriffs including the incumbent Sheriff.
The present Sheriff’s Department is staffed with 47 people and
does not have a Chief Deputy, it is inconceivable that an
organization of this size can function effectively on a 24-hour a day y
basis without delegated leadership authority at a subordinate level.
THERE WILL BE A CHIEF DEPUTY IN MY AD
MINISTRATION.
One of Mr. Keene’s functions, in addition to re-structuring the
Sheriff’s Department, will be to assist in the selection of the Chief
Deputy. Since I do not believe in “wholesale firing”, which the
present Sheriff did when he took office, I would prefer that the Chief
Deputy be selected from the ranks of the present department.
YOUR SUPPORT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
