The magnificent home of
Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm
Reese on Park Avenge Is
this week's featured tour
home. This lovely home
built In 1974 has a brick
exterior accented with
gables made of cedar
shingles.
The foyer contains a
stained glass window
which *was obtained from
the old Perry First Baptist
Church before It was
demolished. The home's
large rooms and decor
convey a feeling of warmth
and spaciousness. An
interconnecting dining and
entertainment area con
sisting of the dining room,
family room, and living
room contains two
fireplaces. The floor of
the porch is constructed of
broken tile. Another
unique feature is that the
storage building's exterior
design duplicates the
house design on a smaller
scale. Additional features
are the carriage lights
which have photoelec
trlcally controlled swit
ches and the intercom
system found throughout
the house.
Both Mr. and Mrs.
Reese enjoy cooking, so
they planned a truly ef
ficient and beautiful kit
chen. The kitchen has a
green and gold color
scheme and contains
several unusual features.
It has a Litton Com
bination Conventional
Range with ceramic
surface units and a
microwave oven. There Is
also a built-in wall spice
cabinet. The Nutone Food
Center takes care of ap
pliances such as a mixer,
food grinder, can opener,
and knife sharperer.
Mrs. Reese has become
very Interested In baking
cakes. Her first cake
decorating course was
taken from Mrs. Bill
Purser. Since then she has
taken three cake
decorating courses and
two catering courses from
Macon Tech Vocational
School with Mrs. Barbara
Wllcher as Instructor.
Mrs. Reese enjoys
baking novelty birthday
cakes form her friends.
She also baked their son's
wedding cake several
years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Reese
particularly treasure
several heirloom antique
pieces handed down by his
grandmother. These
pieces include a pie safe,
hall tree, library table, and
rocking chairs.
