Puffers first graduation
was held Friday evening,
October 14, at the
National Guard Armory
in Perry where caller,
Lee Dixon, reigned
supreme amid pumpkins
squash, jack o'lan
terns, ghosts and tons of
hay.
Graduation activities
began with a grand
march by ail the square
dancers in attendance, a
welcome address by
Jesse McCurdy, club
president and the In
vocation given by the
Rev. Tom Johnson of the
United Methodist Church

After much dancing
and stunt pulling on the
class members they were
led in an impressive
candle-light service by
Lee and Bobbie Dixon as
they were indoctrinated
into the world of square
dancing. They then were
presented certificates
and club badges by Lee
and Bobbie.
Special guests, Mac
and Virginia McDonald,
Georgia State Square
Dance Association
presidents, presented the
Houston Huff 'N Puffers
with a GSSDA banner as
the club officially became
a member club.
At intervals during the
evening, the Cock-Robin
Cloggers of Cochran arj
Robins Air Force Base
enfertained with clogging
exhibitions.
Guest callers for the
evening were: Jim Florig
of Robins Air Force Base
and Bobby Hay of
Americus.
