To Raise Funds For Uniforms
Perry Band Boosters
To Hold Coupon Drive
The Perry Band
Boosters have begun
their sales of Macßucks
in this area as a fund
raising event, to raise
money for new band
uniforms. McDonalds of
Perry is allowing the sale
of the coupons for SI.OO
each, redeemable from
Sunday November 6
through Saturday
November 13.
The coupons are good
for one dollar in food at
the local McDonalds. For
each Macßuck redeemed
for food; the Band
Boosters will be allowed
to retain fifty cents. For
each Macßuck purchased
but not redeemed for
food; the Boosters will
retain the full amount.
State law prohibits use
of tax funds for the
numerous needs of every
school band, grade school
through high school. As a
result, funds tor items
such as new uniforms for
band members must be
derived from the
widows receiving pen

receiving dependency
and indemnity com
pensation.
Subject to certain in
come limitations, VA
pensions are paid to
wartime veterans totally
and permanently
disabled from causes not
connected with their
military services and to
widows of wartime
veterans. The amount of
monthly payments is
based on the amount of
income a pensioner has.

as Social Security;

With fall officially here
we surely have been
enjoying the cool days.
Our residents can really
enjoy outdoor activities
this time of year and
we've tried to get out as
much as possible plus our
other activities.
The honored guests at
the September birthday
party were George
Stanfield (70), Mamie
Linton (82), Clifford
Briley (89), and Florence
Paseur (86). Zeta Upsilon
chapter of Beta Sigma
Phi brought gifts for our
birthday people and
helped serve refresh
ments to everyone
helping them celebrate
their special days.
Several days this
month were spent out
doors. Many of the men
enjoyed pitching hor
seshoes (and we have
some real champions).
There were also frisbees
to throw, golf and games
with balls for those who
were interested. Just
getting out to sit in the
sun and cool breeze was

nice for many.
Our big outing this
month came on Sep
tember 16. We loaded up
the bus, cars, truck and
boat and headed for Lake
Tobesofkee for an "End
of the Summer Picnic".
This day was filled with
fishing, taking rides in
the boat (which for many
was a first experience),
eating some good food
and just relaxing and
enjoying the beautiful
lake and scenery.
We would like to
congratulate many of our
aides who have suc
cessfully passed a
Nurses' Aide Course.
Also this month, many
from our staff attended
and completed an eight
hour course in CPR,
sponsored by the Georgia
Heart Association, at the
Houston County Hospital.
We are very proud to
have a staff who cares so
much about improving
their abilities because
they in turn provide
better care for our
residents.
