afternoon on Friday,
November 25, at the
Perry First Baptist
Church.
No formal invitations
will be sent. All friends
and relatives are cor

the wedding and
reception immediately
following in the church
fellowship hall.

Hold Sun.
Homecoming
The Calvary Evangelistic
Church will have a Home
coming this Sunday, October
23, beginning with Sunday
School at 10:00 a.m. The
morning message will be
brought by the pastor, Rev.
Ray Hamlin.
A covered dish dinner will
follow the morning service.
At 2:00 p.m. a special song
service will feature out of
town groups. Visitors are
cordially invited. The church
is located at 512 Bradley
Street in Perry.

23rd. Menton Williams, a
well known football coach
and Lay Speaker, will
present the morning ser
vices. Everyone is encour
aged to come and share his
testimony.
Sunday night a film, “He
Restoreth My Soul”, will be
shown at 7:00 p.m. The film
is a documentary type
telling of the miraculous
recovery of Merle Womack,
after his firey ordeal in a
single engine plane crash.
Two-thirds of his body was
engulfed in flames and still
he lived! His faith in God and
the courage to follow
through with numerous
operations has inspired
many, many people, Cross
roads minister Bobby Cole
man said.

Exchange Vows
Miss Dessie Lou Rembisz
of Perry became the bride of
Kenneth Travis Biggs of
Perry at a candlelight
ceremony at eight o’clock in
the evening Saturday, Sep
tember 24, 1977 at the First
Baptist Church, Perry.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Walter R.
Rembisz of Perry. The
parents of the groom are Mr.
and Mrs. George T. Biggs of
Perry.
The Rev. Daniel Ariail
officiated at the double ring
ceremony before a beautiful
setting of greenery and
lighted tapers in silver
candelabra. The couple knelt
for prayer at a white
pridieu. Family pews were
marked with white satin
bows. Mrs. Clifton McDaniel
of Reynolds presented a
program of wedding music.
The groom chose Albry
Ray of Kathleen as his best
1977 at the Bank of Perry,
Eastgate Branch.
Hostesses Jane Odom
and Dixie Longino served
delightful refreshments
carrying out the
Halloween theme. A
timely devotional was
given by Mrs. Longino.
The speaker and
special guest for the
evening was Ms. Linda
Mattos, a VISTA
(Volunteers in Service to
America) representative.
Ms. Mattos is a native of
New Bedford,
Massachusetts who is
working in the Perry-
Warner Robins area
teaching crafts to
families with young
children. Her classes are
held in individual homes
once per week (two
hours) and each course
lasts four weeks. She may
be reached by calling the
local Dept, of Family &
Childrens' Services
Office, if anyone desires
more information con
cerning her classes. She
brought several crafts
made from items found in
every home to show to
club members.
The club will be making
decorations for the
downtown Christmas
tree, and will again be
entering a float in the
Christmas Parade.
Plans were made for a
party on November 19th
at Perry Country Club,
which will be a joint
social with the Beltlsta,
Idaka, and Sogadera
Clubs.
On December 10th,
Tsungani Club and
Newcomers Club will
combine for a Christmas
Party at Houston Lake
Country Club.

Miss Connie Trawick of
Perry was maid of honor and
the bride’s only attendant.
She wore a long gown of
mint green organza over
taffeta and wore a matching
wide brimmed garden hat.
Her bouquet was white
daisies and baby’s breath.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely
in her bridal gown of white
organza over taffeta sprink
led with pink rose buds and
trimmed with dainty lace.
Her veil of illusion was
edged with matching lace.
She carried a bouquet of
bridal roses and baby’s
breath with long white
streamers.
For her daughter’s wed
ding, Mrs. Rembisz chose a
yellow qianna and lace
gown and a corsage of white
cymbidium orchids. The
groom’s mother wore a teal
blue jersey gown with a
matching cape. Her corsage
was of cymbidium orchids.
Following the ceremony,
the bride’s parents enter-

tained the wedding guests at
a reception at the Perry
Country Club.
The bride’s table was laid
with a white cloth and an
overlay of net. Centering the
table was the three tiered
wedding cake, embossed
with dainty blue and green
flowers and topped with the
traditional bride and groom.
The cake was baked and
decorated by Mrs. Joseph
Borden. Mrs. David Hawk of
Perry cut and served the
cake.
The refreshment table
reflected the decorations of
the bride’s table with a
white rose bouquet with a
silver ruffle and blue
ribbons. Silver trays held
mints and nuts. Miss Evelyn
McDowell presided at the
punch bowl.
Miss Gena Reese invited
the guests to register in the
bride’s book placed on a
table with an arrangement
of varigated flowers and a
plummed pen.
When the couple left for a
wedding trip to Disney
World and other points in
Florida they were wearing
matching his and her leisure
suits. Mr. and Mrs. Biggs
will reside on Jewel Street
in Perry.
Following the rehearsal at
the church, Mr. and Mrs.
Biggs entertained members
of the wedding party and
other guests at a dinner in
the Community Room of the
Eastgate Bank of Perry.
Miss Rembisz took this
opportunity to present gold
necklaces to her friends in
the wedding party.
