in Houston County. Mrs.
Evans is now assistant to
the director of the
Georgia area of the
American Association of
Retired Persons after
serving as president of
the Perry Chapter AARP
tor two years. Mrs.
Evans is a former regent
of the Gen. Daniel
Stewart chapter of the
D.A.R. and a former
secretary of the Georgia
D.A.R, She Is a member
of the local U.D.C.
chapter, the Garden
Club, the Sorosis Club,
and the Perry chamber of
Commerce.
The widow of Walter B.
Evans, Mrs. Evans has a
daughter, Mrs. Leon
Green and two grand
children, Judd and An
sley Green, of Dublin,
Ga; and a sister, Miss
Martha Cooper, of Perry.
A native of Perry, Mrs.
Evans is the daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. J.P.
Cooper.
Following the dinner, a
reception was held to
further honor Mrs. Evans
and other award

Perry Lions Enjoy Films
About Georgia s Heritage
The Perry Lions en
joyed a talk and film
slides about a living
legacy of Georgia's
heritage. This was ac
complished by a
presentation from Mr.
John McClelland,
Director of Publicity,
''The Georgia
Agrirama", Tifton,
Georgia. The
"Agrirama” Is located at
the intersection of In
terstate 75 and Bth Street.
It is open daily the year
round.
The films depicted a
working farm and a rural
village of the late 1800 s.
For many of the Lions
present it brought back
lots of childhood
memories. Some of the
Lions said they had

recipients. The Pilot Club
colors of gold and green
were used in the floral
decorations and In the
refreshments. Thirty
people joined the twenty
five dinner guests for the
reception.
Pilot Club
The Pilot Club is an
international civic
service organization for
executive and
professional women. It
was organized in Macon,
Ga. in 1921 and now has
over 19,000 members in
more than 575 clubs.
Its basic principles are
friendship and services.
Its motto is "True Course
Ever".
The major project of
the Pilot International
Foundation, Inc. is the
support of programs
needed to provide full
citizenship for han
dicapped people. The
thrust of the Foundation
is in the area of con
vulsive disorders.
The Perry Pilot Club
began the project of
naming a "Woman of the
Year" in 1975. Miss
Barbara Jones was the
first woman to receive
this award. Mrs. Ruby
who believe there's really
an energy crisis.
But skeptical or not,
one thing Is certain: The
price of our current
sources of energy will
continue to rise.
Therefore, extensive
research to locate
alternative sources has
already toured the
"Agrirama" and those
who said they hadn't said
they were planning to no
later than this summer.
