Plans For Sen.
Office Bldg.
In a letter to Chairman
Warren Magnuson of the
Senate Appropriations
Committee concerning

Senate Office Building,
U.S. Senator Sam Nunn
stated, "Because of the

the recent supplemental

funded this project."
Nunn added, "I cer

ostentatious and un
necessary expenses will
be eliminated ... I also
believe that any new
eating facilities should be
primarily for the con
venience of the public
who are visiting their
capitol and I see no
reason for luxurious
eating facilities for the
Senators or their staffs."
The complete text of

Senator Warren
Magnuson, Chairman,
Senate Committee on
Appropriations)
"Dear Mr. Chairman:

debate in recent weeks
regarding the new Hart

space is needed and its
construction will be
inevitable in the future, I
am greatly concerned
that any new Senate
structure be constructed
in an economical fashion.

of the plans for this
