Lung Power For Health
Walk Reset This Sat.
The fourth annual
“Lung Power For
Health’’ walk in Perry
has been re-scheduled for
Saturday November 17
due to the weather last
Saturday announced
chairperson Charlotte
Pritchett.
In 1978 more than 150
Perryans participated in
the 10 mile walk, raising
over S2OOO to combat
crippling lung diseases.
Co-sponsoring this
year’s walk will again be
the Perry Kiwanis Club.
Once again the
Crossroads of Georgia CB
Club will assist the effort,
helping in registration
and in crowd control.
Registration will begin
at 7:30 a.m Saturday
morning at Eastgate
Shopping center, with the
walk scheduled to get
underway about 8:00
a.m., following the same
route as last year.
There will be five rest
stops provided along the
10-mile route to be
manned by the Perry
Kiwanis Club, Sogadera
Club, Newcomers Club
and the Exchange Club.
Free refreshments will
be offered to walkers.
Sponsor forms are
available at the Perry-
Houston County Hospital
as well as many other
points throughout the
city. Watch the Home

WPGA for these
locations.
Revival Services Begin Tonight
Announcement is made
by the Full Gospel
Lighthouse Church,
Gaines Drive, Perry, of
revival services to begin
at 7:30 p.m. each evening
November 15-17 and
Sunday morning
November 18 at 11 a.m.
Speaker for the ser
vices will be nationally
known speaker, Rev.
Boyd McClaren, his wife,
and son, Darrell. Rev.
McClaren has pastored
Elijah Tabernacle in
North Carolina for many
years.
The members of the
church are pleased to
have these great men of
God to minister through
word and song. They
have written and
published many songs

The Chapel of Faith located on Ball Street
across from the Houston County Court House will
have a “Sing” on Saturday, November 24 at 7:30
p.m. featuring the Layman Quartet. The public
is invited.
The Order of the Eastern Star, Houston
Chapter No. 383 is hosting a covered dish supper
in honor of the Fraternal Order of the Masons on
November 20,1979 at the Masonic Temple at 6:30
p.m. to be followed by a half hour of music. All
Eastern Stars are requested to bring a covered
dish to make this traditional event a success.
Regular meeting starts at 8 p.m.
Perry Women’s Club will meet Mon., Nov. 19th
at 7:30 p.m. - Eastgate Branch Bank of Perry.
The program will be on self protection and law
enforcement. Any one interested is cordially
invited.
The Perry Women’s Aglow Fellowship of
Perry is sponsoring a Prayer Gathering at Faith
Farms, Inc., 49 Highway, Macon, November 16

was a National Finalist in the Horse Proficiency Award Program

The Perry Business Women's Club will hold a
Christmas Bazaar on November 17, at the old
Jane’s Shop. The ladies have been working hard
all year and will have a variety of items to sell.
Association’s Highest Office
Perry’s Pace Elected
President OfD.A. Assn.
Houston County
District Attorney Stephen
Pace Jr. has been elected
president of the district
Attorneys Association of
Georgia.
Pace’s elevation to the
association’s highest
office took place Nov. 2
during the group’s annual
meeting at the University
of Georgia’s Center for
Continuing Education in
Athens.
The local district at
torney succeeds William
Lee, district attorney for
Dougherty County, whose
term expires Dec. 31.
Pace, who is currently
serving as association
vice president, will
assume the top executive
post on Jan. 1, 1980.
The association is
made of district at
torneys and their
assistants from 42
judicial circuits
throughout the state.
Main duties and
responsibilities of the
organization are to
promote the cause of
justice, and to urge the
passage of legislation
that will enable law
enforcement officers and
prosecuters to perform
more effectively.
Pace is also presently
serving as chairman of
the Criminal Law Section
of the State Bar of
Georgia, an organization
that includes all at
torneys (both
prosecution and defense)
engaged in criminal law
practice throughout the
state.
A graduate of the U.S.
Ready For Yule Bazaar
Military Academy at
West Point, Pace served
in the regular Army for
eight years before his
release from active duty.
After his release, he
obtained his law degree
from the University of
Georgia Law School.
Appointed to the local
DA's job in Jan., 1975, by
former Gov. Jimmy
Carter, Pace was elected
to a full term in 1976.
Pace is married to the
former Grace Greene of
Americus, and they are
the parents of two sons,
Steve 111, and Mark, and
two grandchildren.
