Perry's Newest Club
The Balvaunuca Club, Perry’s newest civic organization, was formed
recently by the Sogadera Club of Perry in celebration of their 10th An
niversary. Pictured above are the six charter members (L-R} Sheila
Hathaway, Beth Roper, Beverly Todd. Cathy Franklin, Sally Tolleson
and Claire Wills.

Car Loaned For CAR T Program
David Walsh (R) of David Walsh Chevrolet in Perry is pictured above
as he presents Mitchell Korn with the keys to a brand new Monte Carlo for
his use during the city’s first CART Week. David and his wife, Missy, are
active supporters of the CART program and the arts effort now underway
in Perry.

Perry Police Honored
Participating in a ceremony honoring the Perry Police Department for
pedestrian safety in 1978, left to right, are Maurice 0. Myers, Police Chief
B.E. Dennard, and Assistant Chief Roy Shellnut. Myers, who is director
of the AAA-Georgia Motor Club, said the Public Safety Citation was
presented to the department for their efforts in maintaining pedestrian
safety in 1978, a year in which not one pedestrian death was recorded in
Perry. The award was presented last Thursday at city hall.

New Cookbooks On Sale
The Sogadera Club, Inc. of Perry announced today the arrival of their
cookbook, “Something New From Old Perry.’’ Pictured above looking
over the finished product are from left, cookbook co-chairmen Kathy
Stoffell and Nancy Jackson, and Nan Moore of Nan T. Moore Interiors.
The books are “just in time for Christmas’’, says Nancy Jackson, “and
would be an ideal gift.” Many of Perry’s finest cooks and the New Perry
Hotel have contributed their recipes to the cookbook which will sell for
$6.50. They can be purchased from any Sogadera Club member, and also
from Nan T. Moore Interiors and the Sugarplum Tree.
The Hittites, an ancient people of Asia Minor appear to have been the first to use
iron.
