Annual Picnic
“Enthusiasm Makes
the Difference” was the
slogan announced by
Martha Westbrook of
Columbus. Mrs. West
brook is the Third
District GEA Director for
Retired Teachers. She
presented her slogan to
the twenty-four persons
attending the picnic on
the grounds of the Alcot
House located on Lake
Sylvan in Kathleen. After
a sumptious lunch, Mrs.
Ophie Perdue held a short
business meeting. Mrs.
Myra Lunceford spoke to
the group about the
recently established
Georgia Educational
Museum in Milledgeville
that will house
memorabilia of our
schools. Auctioneer Joe
Smith then entertained
the group with his antics
during a potted plant
sale. It proved to be a
pleasant annual event as
well as an informative
one for all who attended.

busy with wedding
preparations for
daughter Nancy who was
married on May 17th.
(Congratulations -- Nan
cy). David Dozier
spent his time re
cuperating from having
his nose overhauled
earlier in the month.
David is doing fine and
smelling a lot better!
(Ha!!) At this time all
members, except Joan,
have wound up their
vacations and are ready
to get back in tune.
