Forehand
Amos A. Forehand, 53,
of Perry died November
17, 1980 in a Macon
Hospital from injuries
sustained in an accident.
Funeral services were
held Tuesday November
18 at the Crossroads
United Methodist Church.
Burial was in Oaklawn
Cemetery in Fort Valley.
The Rev. Leland Collins
and the Rev. Gary Hall
officiated.
Mr. Forehand was a
native of Bartow,
Georgia and had lived in
Perry for nineteen years.
He was employed by
Southern Railway and
previously by Central of
Georgia Railway before
it merged with Southern
for a total of thirty-seven
years with the railroad.
He was a member of
Crossroads ‘United
Methodist Church.
Survivors include his
wife, Maxine; a son Dr.
David Forehand of
Atlanta; two daughters,
Mrs. Sandy Talton of
Kathleen and Miss Lisa
Forehand of Albany; his
mother, Mrs. Willie
Forehand of Louisville; a
brother, James Forehand
of Louisville and two
sisters, Mrs. Jewell
Smith and Mrs. Harry
Roland, both of Louisville
and granddaughter,
Amie Talton of Kathleen.
Rooks Funeral Home of
Fort Valley had charge of
arrangements.
Bostick
William G. Bostick, Sr.
of Maitland, Florida. 57,
died Saturday, November
22. 1980.
Born in Crawford
County, Georgia, he
moved to Maitland from
West Palm Beach in 1960.
He was a sales
representatives, a
Protestant and a World
War II veteran.

of Macon.

Methodist Church Sunday
afternoon.
Mrs. Robert Fun
derburke and family
spent Friday with Mr.
Robert Funderburke in
the hospital in
Milledgeville, and report
him much improved.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Keys
spent Thanksgiving with
their daughter and her
family, the Lee Russells
of Jackson, Miss.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Thompson and children
spent Thanksgiving with
Robert’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. C.W. Thompson
of Millen.
Miss Kelly Ratterree is
home from the hospital,
where she has been a
patient for several days.

Ethridge
The Rev. Gene B.
Ethridge, 52. of 2323 N.
Forrest St., died Thur
sday at his residence
after a long illness.
He was born in Dublin
and lived in Valdosta for
three years. He was a
licensed pastoral
counselor and
psychoterapist here.
He was a member of
the Augusta - Macon
Presbytery and the
American Association of
Pastoral Counselors. He
was a former missionary
in Taiwan for the
Presbyterian Church of
the U.S.
He is survived by his
wife, the former Mary
Conway; one daughter,
Laurie Ethridge of
Valdosta; two sons, Ben
Ethridge and David
Ethridge of Valdosta; his
mother, Mrs. Jennie
Ethridge of Perry; and
one brother, William G.
Ethridge Jr. of Perry.
Graveside services
were held Saturday at 1
p.m. at Evergreen
Cemetery in Perry.
The family requests in
lieu of flowers con
tributions be made to the
M.D. Anderson Tumor
Institute for Lung Cancer
Research in Houston,
Texas.
Carson - McLane
Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.

filled the pulpit in the
Clinchfield Presbyterian
Church Nov. 30.
Ruth Taylor went with
Wyndell and Sue Taylor
of Columbus to Canton for
Thanksgiving weekend.
On Thursday, Mr, Carl
Edge Sr. was host at a
Thanksgiving dinner.
Family members at

Mrs. Alice Pitzer had
all her children at her
home for Thaksgiving.
Among them were Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Pitzer. of
New Orleans.

Burglaries Reported
On Thanksgiving
The Perry Police
Department is currently
investigating four
burglaries that occurred
during the Thanksgiving
weekend.
The apartment of Tina
Williams. 108 C Tara
Apartments, was
burglarized Thursday
night. Entrance was
gained through a sliding
glass door. Stolen items
included a Zenith black
and white 15 inch
television, a Philco stereo
AM-FM turntable with
two speakers, a 22
Winchester semi
automatic rifle, a class
ring, various meats, two
coats, Jewelry and a
watch.
Larry H. Fortner, of
108 D Tara Apartments,
returned home Saturday
night after having been
away since Wednesday,
to find that his home had
been burglarized. Entry
was made through a
sliding glass door. Items
stolen from his apart
ment included a RCA 21
inch color television, a
Zenith stereo AM-FM
eight track player with
two speakers, and
various clothing and food.
Thursday night,
Carolynn Bozwell and a
friend returned to Miss
Bozwell’s home at Pine
Castle Apartment 2, to
find a black male in the
apartment.
The man, who had
apparently forced open
the sliding glass door,
fled out the back door. He
was described as ap
proximately 5’10”,

reported missing from
the apartment. Other
items that had been
placed in pillowcases by
the burglar were left on
the floor of the apart
ment.
