Hunters Survey Requested
Wildlife biologists of
the Game and Fish
Division are seeking
quail hunters who are
willing to share in
formation on their
hunting activities again
this year.

Included in the in
formation needed is the
number of coveys seen,
the number of birds in
each covey, time spent in
the field and number of
trips per week. The in
formation, when com
bined with that of other

hunters, will allow
biologists to recognize
trends in the quail
population sooner and
hopefully take steps to
head off any problems.
Cooperating hunters will
be provided with post
paid cards on which to
keep records and will be
informed on the results of
the project through a
quarterly newsletter.
The biologist in charge
of the quail project is Ron
Simpson who is stationed
in the Albany office. He
said, “we had about 200
cooperators last year and
they provided us with
good information, but we
need 500 to 1000 so that
the information will be
more varied and from
every part of the state”.

would like to assist the

in determining the
current status, trends
and methods to increase
quail hunting op
portunities in Georgia is
