All-wood home

'Personal
Flair'
for Judy and Jerry Hall
By MELODY BACAS
Staff Writer
Judy and Jerry Hall's house is not like every other house because it has
the Halls personal flair.
The two-story home in Lea Glen is a contemporary design, made to
tally out of wood. The Halls ordered the plans through a house plan ser
vice in Oregon, then changed them some to include the "dream bath
room."
"In the original plans, the bathroom wasn't that large," Mrs. Hall said,
referring to their black and gray bathroom complete with whirlpool bath,
and sauna.
"Jerry enlarged it to put in the sauna. That also added space to the bed
room," she said.
Mrs. Hall said she chose black and gray because she thought it would
look great with the California Redwood in the bathroom.
"Drama is why I chose it. I thought it would look dramatic," she said.
There arc several unique features of the house. Lots of big windows for
one. Then there arc four decks around the house, with three open and one
screened in porch outside the master bedroom.
Another interesting feature is the courtyard outside the large wooden
front door. An iron gate opens to the courtyard from the outside. In the
yard, there is a tree and birds made of sheet metal decorate an outside
house wall.
"A friend of ours from Mercer University made those," Mrs. Hall said.
"We did have them at our cabin on the lake.”

Mrs. Hall in front of their house in Perry that she and her husband decorated themselves
...The house is made totally with wood, using a design from Oregan
Inside the front door, a wooden bannister overlooks the livingroom.
The livingroom has several ceiling fans attached to the cathedral ceiling.
Mrs. Hall said they did all the decorating themselves when the house
was finished a year ago. She said it was a tedious job to pick out all the
wallpaper, carpet, and fixtures.
