Music Under the Stars Creek, Cane and Pride headline show The sounds of smooth flowing country music will fill the air Friday, April 6 when the Mossy Creek Band leads off Music Under the Stars. Playing with them will be special guest artists Hunter Cain and Papa's Pride from Nashville. The event will take place from 8 p.m. until midnight at the courthouse on Carroll Street. "There's something about country music that really brings people to gether," Kim Hathcock, organizer of the event said. "Young and old alike appreciate country music. It reaches across the human barriers and touches something deep inside of everyone." The toe-tapping evening also offers those attending a chance to win a vacation. "The $3 admission ticket includes a chance to win a S6OO vacation of the winner's choice," Hathcock said. All proceeds from the event will go to the DARE program, and education riented anti-drug program in the public schools operated by the Perry Police Department. "The music will be fantastic and it helps educate our youngsters to avoid the use of drugs," Hathcock said. "Everyone gets a chance to win a fabulous vacation. What could be better?" Those attending should bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Concession stands will be operating to provide food and drink. "Come meet your neighbors and make some new friends," Hathcock said.
