PAL program provides hope,
better Christmas to many

Staff Writer
"A lot of people have been very
good," declared Vinni Moss of Pro
ject Agape Love, or PAL.
Moss said "I don't know how to
begin to tell you how many tons of
food we got." She added "people
have been very generous."
This year, PAL will provide hol
iday food for 300 families in Perry.
All the families that applied for as
sistance will be helped.
Moss explained that "we’ll still
have to buy some food to even
things out." She noted that each
box would be reasonably the same,
and because different amounts of
different food was given, it would
be necessary to buy some food.
Compared to last year, PAL do
nations were a little off. One reason
Moss pointed to was the fact that
only Harvey's grocery store allowed
them to put a PAL box on store

Food is only one aspect of PAL
this year. Phillip Thomason of
Crossroads Methodist Church
pointed out that "toys will be given
out at the Church."
The toy donations were about
average. Thomason said that when
you ask for toy donations,
"sometimes you just get junk." But
he said many of the toys were us
able.
Lalhel Thomason has organized
the Crossroads youth group to pul
on a Santa Land at the Church.
"We'll give out one toy per child
under 12," she explained, adding
that "we’ll give them out until we
run out."

PAL food and toys will be collect
ing their items on Friday and
Saturday, December 21 and 22.
