Dorothy Martin Randall
I’ERRY - Dorothy Marlin Randall, 66, of 1304 Smoak Avc. died
Wednesday at her residence.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lake Wales, Fla.
Horn in Frostproof, Fla., she lived in Perry for the past 35 years and was
a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Randall of Perry; a sister, Myr
tiec Myers of New London, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry had charge of arrangements.
Bessie Smith
KATHLEEN - Bessie Smith of Route 2, Box 238, died Dec. 10 in a lo
cal hospital.
Services were Monday at 2 p.m. in Sandbcd Baptist Church of Kathleen.
Burial was in Pincy Grove Cemetery, Kathleen. The Reverend David Sav
age officiated.
Bom in Houston County, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Mac
Ida Gray and was a member of Sandbcd Baptist Church in Kathleen.
Survivors include two sisters, Maggie Stephens of Long Island, N.Y.
and Gertrude Bellman of Kathleen; three brothers, W.C. Gray of Kathleen,
Bobby Lee Gray of Warner Robins and Sammy Lee Gray of Ashbum.
Richardson Funeral Home in Perry had charge of arrangements.
Lonnie Smith, Jr.
ALLENTOWN - Lonnie Smith Jr„ 70, of A.T, Land Sr. Highway died
Thursday in a Macon Hospital.
Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Allgood Memorial Chapel, Jef
fersonville. Burial followed in Dublin Memorial Gardens. The Reverends
Bob Herrington, Carl McDonald and Dale Thornton officiated.
Bom in Dodge County, Mr. Smith lived in Twiggs County most of his
life, was the son of the late Lonnie and Vida Smith, was a member of Al
lentown Methodist Church, the VFW, and Woodmen of the World and was
a retired auto parts salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline F. Smith of Allentown; two daugh
ters, Sandra S. Little and Denise S. Dowd of Bonaire; two sisters, Virginia
S. Smith and Hazel S. Wester, both of Macon; two brothers, Ralph Smith
Sr. of Jeffersonville and Earl Smith of Danville; five grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.
Cora Lee Coleman
BONAIRE - Cora Lee Coleman, 86, of 10.3 Cartwright Drive died Sun
day in a local hospital.
Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Townsend Brothers Funeral
Home. Burial was in White Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev
erend Sonny Wilkes officiated.
Bom in Laurens County, Mrs. Coleman lived in Houston County for
the past seven years. She was the daughter of the late C.L. Lindsey and
Georgia Bell Jones and was the widow of Hardy D. Coleman. She was a
homemaker and a member of Olivet Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Melba Braddy of Bonaire; two brothers,
ILK. Lindsey of Allaman Springs, Fla., and J.F. Lindsey of Metairie, La.;
four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Townsend Brothers Funeral Home in Dublin had charge of arrangements.
Aaron D. Bryant Sr.
ELKO - Aaron D. Bryant Sr., 54, of 351 Old Vienna Road died Wednes
day in a local hospital.
Services were held Monday at 2 p.m. in New Bethel Baptist Church.
Burial was in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Morris
Hillsman officiated.
Born in Houston County, Mr. Bryant was a member of New Bethel
Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Lodge, he was an employee of
southern Frozen Food Company.
Survivors include his wife, Allccn Bryant of Elko; six sons, Harrell
Bryant of Richmond, Va., James Bryant of Unadilla, Aaron D. Bryant Jr.
of Perry, Gregory Bryant and Reginald Bryant both of Elko and Larcnzo
Mobley of Germany; three brothers, Melvin Bryant Sr. of Rochester,
N.Y., William Bryant Sr. of Unadilla and Price Bryant 111 of Elko; six sis
ters, Lillian Williams and Helen Hill both of Rochester, N.Y., Gladys
Jackson of Chicago, Arabcll Chancy and Palsy Holmes both of Unadilla
and Carolyn West of Perry; and nine grandchildren.
Alvic Coes Funeral Home in Unadilla had charge of arrangements.
Charlotte Ellison Freeman
MACON - Charlotte Ellison Freeman, 74, died Sunday at her residence.
Services were Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Hart’s Mortuary. Burial was in
Riverside Cemetery.
Born in Bibb County, she was a retired bookkeeper from the Civil Court
of the Bibb County Clerk's Office and a member of the Women of the
Moose. She was a member of United Methodist Church and the Solomon
Fellowship Sunday School class.
Survivors include one daughter, Dr. Gail Lamb of Atlanta; two sons,
Jerry N. Little of Richmond, Va. and Larry B. Little of Neptune Beach,
Fla.; one brother, Charles L. Ellison of Macon; one sister, Cynthia Cau-

Richards joins Perry P.D.

Tim Richards is the newest
member of the Perry Police De
partment. Richards comes to Perry
with seven years of uniformed ex
perience in Georgia.
"It is a beautiful town," he said,
adding "the people arc
friendly...l've never felt more
welcome in a town."

by snalchings," said Captain Lou
Dckmar of the Perry Police De
partment.
Dekmar offered several tips on
protecting yourself from these
crimes. "Lock your doors," he said,
noting "don't leave valuables ex
posed."
Valuables should be locked in
trunks if they arc going to be left in
cars. However, Dckmar explained
"look around to make sure no one

"If you are going out of town,
make arrangements for mail and
papers, so they do not collect,"
Dckmar advised.

Willie Green accepts his certificate as Perry’s Employee of
the Month from City Manager Marion Hay. Green began work
ing for the City on Sept. 10, 1980 and will retire on Dec. 31,
1990. In those ten years, he kept City Hall spotlessly clean
and "set an example no one's been able to equal," by not tak
ing a single day of sick leave.
