An architect's drawing of St. Christopher's

The Women of St. Christopher's
at-the Crossroads Episcopal Mis
sion are determined to build a
church this year.
They have held many money
making projects-rummage sales,
sweet sales, but perhaps the most
unusual is the Phantom Tea which
is going on right now.
The invitations, which were
mailed to Episcopalians and other
friends in middle Georgia, read like
this:
"The most delightful benefit you
never will attend
For you don't have to come; it’s
money you send,
No cookies to bake, no silver to
lend,
No linens to launder or beg from
a friend.
You don’t have to worry about
what to wear,
No car fare or parking to give

For the past two years, the 40
communicants have met as early as
9 a.m. at the American Legion Hall
for their church services, in order
for Rev. Hal Daniel to conduct later
services at All Saints Church in
Warner Robins. Members of St.
Christopher's have to get to the hall
much earlier to set up the altar and
kneelers and arrange the flowers,

night party, before we can fix the
altar"-a table of cold drink crates,
which is covered by a simple green
cloth.
The five Sunday School classes
are crowded into one room at the
hall.
Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Cotten keep
the communion service, the altar
vases, candlesticks and cross at their
home; the kneelers, hymnals and
prayer books are kept at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Innskeep
and they are brought back and forth
to services.
The size of this group does not
limit their enthusiasm, however, as
members of St. Christopher's are as
active as many large congregations.

the basement of the Cotten home.

The church has purchased a site
