Bear and His
Lesson
By NATALIE GUTt.rtlE
Fifth grade, Kings Chapel
Once upon a time there lived a
black bear, a gray rabbit, and a
white duck. Bear and Rabbit were
best friends. Rabbit and Duck were
friends also. Bear thought Duck was
odd and ugly. Bear didn't know
much about Duck. One day Duck
invited Rabbit and Bear to come
fishing with him. Duck was
waiting for them to come to go
fishing at Blue Waters. Soon they
were settled. Then duck jumped in
the lake for a little swim. Duck
caught ten fish. Bear caught six fish
and Rabbit only caught three fish.
"Thank you for inviting us," said
Rabbit.
"Yes, we had a great time." added
Bear.
"Glad you two could come," said
Duck I really like Duck, thought
Bear.

Letters to
George Bush
Dear Mr. Bush,
I am a fifth grade student at
Kings Chapel School. My opinion
about the war is good. I wish I
could be fighting in this war.and
especially for my country. It is a
good thing that we don't want Iraq
taking over Kuwait. We have a lot
of countries on our side. I feel good
about the war because we are
winning. I like wars when we win.
Sincerely yours,
Ty Jackson
Dear Mr. Bush,
I would like to let you know that
my cousin was bom the night you
attacked Iraq. I am behind you all
the way. I think you are doing the
right thing. I wish I was old
enough to fight for my country.
Please write back.
Sincerely yours,
Wade Stewart
Don't lie
By LAUREN HENDERSON
Fourth grade
One morning a puppy called
Jacob was getting ready for school.
He said, "I don't want to go to
school.” He thought for a minute
and he said, "I'll tell Mama I don’t
feel good." so he found his mother
and told her, "I don't feel good,
Mama." And she told him he could
go back to bed. When she went to
work he played, ate and watched
movies. She came home and caught
him playing and said, "I thought
you were sick!" He told her
everything and she grounded him
for two weeks. A couple of weeks
later he really caught the flu. He
told her but he had to go to school
anyway because she thought he
might be lying again.
Moral: Don't lie beacause sooner
or later lit might backfire.

Bill the Beaver
and Chip
Chipmunk.
By Melissa Martin
Fifth grade, Kings Chapel
One day two friends named Bill
and Chip went outside to play.
They played lag and hopscotch.
Then Bill said, "Let's go
swimming. I'm tired and bored,"Bill
complained.
"All right, said Chip, knowing
that he could not swim. "I will
since you are." and with that they
walked to Brenner Pond.
Bill jumped in and said "Come
on in! The water is nice and cool."
Chip held his nose and jumped
in. But poor Chip just could not
keep his self afloat.
"Poor Chip." Bill said.
Moral: Just beacause someone
else does something does not mean
you have to.
Wondering
By NATALIE JOHNSON
Fifth grade, Kings Chapel
One day I watched a show and it
showed what heaven is like. I'm
always wondering. What is heaven
like? Sometimes I think it’s a place
made of clouds(blue clouds). The
people there are dressed lin white
gowns with yellow wings and a
yellow halo. Other times I picture
it as looking just the same as the
earth does.
My aunt died almost a half a year
ago. I wonder if she is having a
nice time in this place called
heaven. I also think this about my
cousin. I didn’t know him well. I've
only met him once. But I still
wonder.
It doesn't hurt to wonder. Does
it?
Three Months
to Live
By DEE CHANEN
Fifth grade, Kings Chapel
If I was told that I only had three
months to live I would panic! Then
I would tell my family, and spend
as much time as I could with them.
I would give my bedroom suit to
Lisa, and I would give all my
money to Bobby. Then I would
give all my love to my parents.
Fairy's Dance
by Colleen Carlton
Fifth grade, Kings Chapel
Once upon a time there were
fairies to beautiful to mention.
Their magic was deadly to all
human's world but like a trv to
their world. When hunur meet
them their magix is so ,iten and
their beauty is at hand. The words
are spoken ,"Come, come , the
time has come to dance."
Forgetting the warnings and
cautions the magic has begun. The
twists and twirls of the dancing is
swaying the trees like winter's
breath whispering. Then suddenly it
stops! Leaves rustle but it is silent,
the dance is fading. The dancing is
leading to the mountains. Be
cautious, my friend, of the fairies
that dance, for they shall lead you
to a silent death.

these famous people, it seems that

The good and
bad things
about school
By SARAH GIBSON
Fifth grade, King* Chapel
The good things in school are
mostly break, lunch and English
because the teacher tries her best to
make us happy and keep us awake.
The teacher tries her best to make
us happy and keep us awake. The
other good things are homework,
because we don't get very much and
if you don't finish it at home you
can finish it at school. The teachers
are not just good, they're great!
They don't make you bored and
keep your wits up.
The bad things are, sometimes
school gets too long and you might
have a bad day because a bully
might get on your nerves. And the
other bad thing is boys! Man, they
can drive anybody crazy.
