Mrs. Brian James Lewis
Lewis of Moultrie weds
Moseley on June 13
The sanctuary of the First United
Methodist Church in Moultrie was
the setting for the June 13 wedding
ceremony which united in marriage
Miss Holly Lynn Moseley and
Brian James Lewis of Moultrie.
The Revs. Dick Reese and John
Eubanks were the officiating minis
ters.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. David L. Moseley of Tal
lahassee, Fla., and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. James J.
Lewis of Perry.
Music during the ceremony was
presented by Mrs. Hubert Tucker,
organist, Ms. Susan Strickland, pi
anist, David May, trumpeter, Larry
Sims, guitarist, and Robb Howell
and Mrs. Torey Wingate, vocalists.
The focal point of the church
decorations was an amangcmcnt of
snapdragons, gladioli, Fuji chrysan
themums, carnations, Gerbera
daisies in shades of white and peach
interspersed with sprigs and gyp
sophilia. A cathedral candelabra
holding lighted tapers backed the
central arrangement and was flanked
with crown candelabra set in a
background of Oregon ferns and
palms. The family pews were
marked with clusters of roses and
Fuji chrysanthemums intermingled
with sprigs of gypsophilia and
English ivy and tied with peach
tulle and white moire ribbons.
Mr. Lewis served his son as best
man. The ushers were Rick Hill of
Marietta, Jeff Collins of Augusta,
Trent Davis of Macon, Jim Fineis
of Roswell, Tom Keebler of At
lanta, Steve Howard of Perry and
Keith Thompson of Seneca, S.C.
Master John David Howard of Perry
was the ringbearer.
Mrs. John Windom of Moultrie
attended the bride as matron of
honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Seth Berl and Mrs. Torey Wingate
of Moultrie, Ms. Christina Price of
Clayton, Ala., Miss Laura Littleton
of Hilton Head, S.C., Mrs. Steve
Howard of Perry and Mrs. Keith
Thompson of Seneca, S.C. Junior
bridesmaid was Miss Jennifer
Miskell of Montgomery, Ala., and
little Misses Erin Thompson and
Ashley Thompson of Seneca, S.C.,
were the flower girls. Honorary
bridesmaids were Mrs. David
Pritchett of Moultrie and Mrs.
Larry Adams of Moultrie.

ing and spoon the mixture over the
rhubarb. Sprinkle the remaining
crust mixture over it, then the nuts.
Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
Serve warm with whipped cream.
Cherry Devil’s Food Cake:
2/3 cup shortening
2 eggs, separated
1 and 3/4 tsp. soda
3 cups sifted flour
2 cups sugar
4 squares melted chocolate
1 tsp. salt
L 4-ounce bottles maraschino cher
ries, drained.
Cherry juice plus buttermilk to
make two cups
Put the cherries to drain way
ahead of when you plan to mix the
cake.(Cut them in quarters for faster
draining). Cream together the
shortening and sugar; add the egg
yolks and mix thoroughly. Stir in
the melted chocolate. Sift together
twice the flour, soda and salt. Add
mezzo-length gowns fashioned of
ice peach satin. The fitted bodices
were designed with bateau necklines
with layered sleeves extending over
the shoulders with keyhole open
ings adding back interest. The The
basque-styled waistlines were
adorned with self-fabric roses on
one side. They carried French
clutch-styled bouquets of roses,
freesias and Gerbera daisies in
shades of sonia and pink inter
spersed with sprigs of monte casino
and gypsophilia.
The bride was given in marriage
by her father. She chose for her
wedding a formal-length gown fash
ioned of white bridal satin. The
basque-styled bodice, designed with
a V neckline, was overlaid with
Alencon lace embellished with seed
pearls, bugle beads and irridescent
sequins. The leg-o-mutton sleeves
were slightly pouffed at the shoul
ders and tapered to end in points at
the wrists. The softly gathered skirt
was enhanced on the front with
cutout lace motifs and edged with
scalloped lace which extended
around the cathedral-length train
which was lavishly trimmed in
beaded lace. Her fingertip-length
veil of bridal illusion was attached
to a headpiece of Alancon lace high
lighted with pearls and sequins. Her
flowers were a cascade-styled bou
quet of rises interspersed with
sprigs of gypsophilia and English
and needle point ivory.
Reception
Following the ceremony, the
bride's parents were hosts for a re
ception held in the church social
hall.
The bride's table was covered
with a linen and ace cloth caught at
intervals with peach tulle bows.
The tiered wedding cake was topped
with fresh flowers and was placed
against a background of colonial
columns topped with baskets of
ferns and white pearlized balloons.
The groom's cake was a replica
of the University of Georgia San
ford Stadium with an airplane fly
ing overhead pulling a banner that
said "Holly Moseley will you
marry me? Brian!!! The day of their
engagement at the LSU and Georgia
football game on Sept. 7, 1991.
After a wedding trip to points of
interest in the western area of North
Carolina, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis will
reside in Moultrie.

whites and then the cup of cherries.
Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
Use a 10x14 cake pan or two 9-
inch round pans. Frost with white
frosting.
Pumpkin Biscuits:
1/2 cup pureed pumpkin
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. mace
1/2 cup scalded milk
1/4 yeast cake dissolved in 1/4 cup
lukewarm water
4 tbsp. butter
2 1/2 cups flour
Add the pumpkin, sugar, salt and
butter to the milk. Cool to luke
warm and add the dissolved yeast
cake, then the flour; cover and put
in a warm place to rise overnight.
Shape into biscuits, place side by
side in a greased pan, let rise again
and bake in a 375 degree oven.
Scarborough married Nixon
Tracie Jean Nixon of Atlanta and
Rabun Gordon Scarborough 111 were
married on June 27, 1992 at 11:30
a.m. at the First Presbyterian
Church in Clinton, S.C.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Oscar Nixon of
Clinton, S.C.
The groom is the son of Marietta
Phillips Scarborough of Perry and
Rabun Gordon Scarborough Jr. of
Perry.
Dr. Joe Walter Bream Brooks of
ficiated at the double-ring cere
mony. The wedding music was
provided by Dr. Charles Thomas
Gaines, organist, and Hannah and
Leslie Frey were violinist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a white silk organza
dress with embroidered organza mo
tifs on a long torso bodice which
featured a portrait neckline and cap
sleeves and a skirt of graduating
tucked organza panels. She wore a
floor-length veil of tulle and satin
ribbon with a head piece of minia
ture roses and gypsophilia. The
bride carried a bouquet of mixed
miniature roses and gypsophilia.
The Maid of Honor was Margaret
Shawn Scase of Charleston, S.C.
Bridesmaids were Angela Ruth
Scarborough of Perry, sister of the
groom; Amanda Lee and Abbic Sue
Nixon of Carrolton, cousins of die
bride; Amy Nixon Oakes of Hick
ory, N.C., cousin of the bride; and
Alice Humphries of Atlanta. The
bridesmaids wore a two-piece fuc
shia suit of cotton brocade and car
ried a mixed bouquet.
The groom chose his father as
best man. Ushers were Edward
Morgan Beckham 111 and Bob
Moore of Perry; Brandon Barrow
and Robert Cason, both of Mari
etta; and Joseph Bryant Nixon of
Tiffany

The wedding took place at 4 p.m.
June 25t 1992 in the Lemhi moun
tains of cast-central Idaho. The set
ting was an alpine lake at an eleva
tion of 9,000 feet. The ceremony
was conducted by Mr. Gary Andcr
ton, mayor of Lcadorc, Idaho. In at
tendance were Ole and Barbara
Jandt, the photographer Sheldon
Kelly, and the mayor's bassett
hound Otis.
The mountainous surroundings
called for an informal ceremony and
wedding attire. The bride carried a
bouquet of wild (lowers.
The couple plans to make their
home in Athens and pursue their
advanced degrees in geography at
the University of Georgia.
Clark to
wed Buck
in July
Mr. and Mrs. William J. Clark of
Perry announce the engagement of
their daughter, Marcell, to Randall
S. Buck, son of Mr. Richard M.
Buck of Jamestown, Tenn., and
Mrs. Georgia M. Crozier of Griffin.
The bride-elect attended Gordon
College in Barncsville after com
pleting her education at Perry High.
The groom-elect graduated from
Alvin C. York Agricultural Insti
tute in Jamestown, Tenn., and now
resides in Griffin.
Friends are invited to attend the
wedding on July 24, 1992 at 6 p.m.
at the Griffin United Methodist
Church in Griffin. Formal invita
tions are not being sent. The couple
plans to reside in Griffin.

Andrew calls it a “teenager's par
adise” because it is so separate form
the rest of the house.
The Andrews' house has a lot of
history to it and is still standing
solid after all of these years. The
construction in the old days was
obviously quality work for it to
have lasted through two fires and
three generations of family.
