Janice Jordan Rowe
Kerce, Rowe to wed
in Dec. 19 ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. George Wilson
Jordan of Tallahassee, Fla., an
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Janice Jprdan Rowe, to
James Bishop Kerce, son of Mrs.
Catherine Stout and the late Mr.
Benjamin L. "Red'' Kerce of
Tallahassee, Fla.
The bride-elect is the granddaugh
ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. S.B.
Perry of Bainbridgc, Ga. and the
late Mr. and Mrs. G.VV. Jordan of
Whigham, Ga. She is a graduate of
Leon High School and earned a
B.S. in Elementary Education and a
Masters in Early Childhood
Education from Florida State
University. She is also a doctoral
candidate. She is currently em
ployed at Springwood Elementary
Rider, Moss married in Fort Valley
Miss Molly Katherine Rider,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd A.
Rider, became the bride of James
Walter Moss Jr., son of Mrs. Ruth
Moss of Ft. Valley and James W.
Moss Sr. of Perry.
The double ring ceremony took
place at the Perry Presbuerian
Church with the Rev. Frank Clark
of Macon officiating at 2:30 in the
afternoon.
Mrs. Raymond Hooton of Perry
presented a program of prenuptial
music and accompanied the soloist
Mrs. Michele Crawley of Warner
Robins as she sang "Flesh Os My
Flesh."
Candlcabras banked with greenery
and large ferns set the scene for the
ceremony.
The bride’s attendants were Miss
Nancy Crumpton of Centerville,
Maid of Honor; Bridesmaids were
Miss Terri Childers of Centerville,
Mrs. Teresa Crawley of Kathleen,
sister of the groom. Miss Lea Barr
and Miss Susie Stafford of
Marshallville.
The bride’s attendants were
gowned alike with door length
dresses of fuschia taffeta and carried
Star-gazer lilly hand bouquets with
ming fern.
Serving as flower girls and
dressed like the bridesmaids were
Ashley Crawley of Kathleen, niece
of the groom, and Brittany Sullivan
cousin of the bride.
Serving as ring bearer was Jacob
Rider, brother of the bride.
The groom chose his father,
James W. Moss Sr., as best man.
Usher-Groomsmen were Randy
Moss of Ft. Valley, brother of the
groom, Bobby Chancy of Warner
Robins, cousin of the groom, Hoke
Morrow and Bruce Rider, brother of
the bride.
The bride, given in marriage by
her parents, wore a formal gown
fashioned of white taffeta embroi
dered lace with tiny seed pearls and
iridescent sequins featured a sabrina
neckline, long tapered sleeves, car
riage back with attached chapel train
and a deep v-neck. The tiered veil of
imported silk illusion was attached
to a cloche of matching lace. She
carried a tear drop cascade of star
gazer lillics with tinebe roses and
ming fern.
Mrs. Rider chose for her daugh
ter's wedding a royal blue crepe
dress and a corsage of cymbidium
orchids.
School, Tallahassee, Fla.
The groom-elect is the grandson
ol the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin
Kerce of Lake Butler, Fla. and the
late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thrclkcld
of Titusville, Fla. He graduated
from Leon High School and at
tended Florida State University
where he majored in design and
graphics. He is currently employed
as Editor and General Manager of
the Houston Home Journal in
Perry.
The wedding is planned for 11
a.m., December 19, 1992 at the
Perry Presbyterian Church in Perry.
No formal invitations will be
sent, but family and friends arc in
vited to attend.

Mr. and Mrs. James Walter Moss Jr.
Mrs. Moss, mother of the
groom, chose a mint green silk
dress and she too, wore a corsage of
cymbidium orchids.
Following the wedding a recep
tion was held at the Presbyterian
Youth Center.
The bride and groom were
escorted in a horse drawn carriage
from the church to the youth center
and after the reception to the bride's
home. A gift from the bride's aunt
and uncle, Mrs. and Mrs. John
Goodlow of Atlanta,
Assisting with the reception were
Mrs. N.C. Chapman, grandmother
of the bride, Mrs. Teddie Griffin,
aunt of the bride, Mrs. Nora Brown
and Mrs. Roger Sullivan.
The bride's book was kept by
Browns united in marriage Oct. 17
Deborah Ann Scholl, daughter of
Mrs. Jean M. Coward and the late
James Marion Coward of Lilbum,
and Douglas Edwin Brown Jr., son
of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Edwin
Brown Sr., were united in marriage
October 17, 1992 at 4:00 in the
afternoon at the First Baptist
Church of Perry. The double ring
ceremony was performed by Rev.
Larry Wood.
The bride, given in marriage by
Phil A. Mathias, M.D., wore a
formal gown of Ivory. The sabrina
neckline and bodice featured an illu
sion of schiffile lace. Both were
decorated with irridescent sequins,
schiffile lace and scrolls of seed
pearls. Short pouffs accented the
sleeves and they were also decorated
with lace motifs and a fanlike de
sign. The sleeves came to a point at
the bride’s elbow. The basque waist
line also featured a fanlike pattern
and scrolls of seed pearls. The full
taffeta skirt featured a hemline of
scalloped lace. The front of the skirt
featured a seed pearl design down to
the hemline. The full skirt swept
into a chapel length train and was
decorated with three flowing ap
pliques from the waistline to the
hemline of the train.
The bride's veil was handmade by
Mrs. Christopher Hudson. The veil
featured silk ivory with strands of
ivory pearls. The double pouf veil
framed the bride's face and came to
the waist line.
The bride wore a single strand of
pearls that were worn by the
groom's mother on her wedding
day.
The bride carried a bouquet of
light cream and blue roses with silk
stephonatis and babys breath ac
cented with mini carnations and
shaped in a teardrop cascade. There
were bows of illusion netting and
irridescent ribbons with streamers
of pearls. The ribbons were tied in
lovers knots that cascaded down the
front of the bride’s dress.
Debbie Pike of Perry was the
Maid of Honor. Mrs. Lamar Brown
of Lawrcnccvillc, Miss Cynthia
Fairchild of Perry and Miss Dcbce
Hall of Hawkinsvillc were
Bridesmaids.
Mr. Douglas Edwin Brown Sr. of
Perry served as his son's best man.
Groomsmen were Mr. Lamar
Brown of Lawrcnccvillc, Mr. John
Gibson of Perry, Mr. Robert Talton
of Perry and Mr. Bob Bledsoe of
Perry.
Miss Bristol Sullivan, cousin of
the bride,
Handing out rice bags during the
reception was Brooke Sullivan,
cousin of the bride.
The bride's table was covered
with write polyester lace and fea
tured candleabra holding star-gazer
lillies, babys breath and bunting
white tapers. The three tiered wed
ding cake was embossed with pink
roses and topped with a miniature
bride and groom made by a long
time family friend, Mrs. Anne
Reese of Ft. Valley.
The cake was cut and served by
Mrs. Dana Caulder of Perry.
Serving punch was Miss Elaine
Fibbc of Ft. Valiev and Miss

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Edwin Brown Jr.
The Maid of Honor and
Bridesmaids wore matching tea
length blue taffeta dresses with pouf
sleeves and a tapered skirt with a
bow at the waist. They wore match
ing blue shoes. They carried bou
quets of silk blue and cream colored
roses with illusion netting and
pearls accented the long cream and
blue ribbons.
Wedding music was provided by
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Richards.
"There's No Way" and "The Lord's
Prayer" were sung. Deborah Brewer
sang "Oh Perfect Love" and Mrs.
Nancy Joiner played the organ with
Mrs. Marilyn Hooten on the piano.
A reception was held at the
church fellowship hall. Rice bags
were given to each guest by Emily
Chapman and Katie Chapman,
daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Ed
Chapman Jr. of Perry.
After a honeymoon trip, the cou
ple will reside in Perry.
Rehearsal dinner was given by
the groom's parents at Ochlahatchcc
Clubhouse for the wedding party,

Perry Hotel Sept. 26, 1992. The
hostesses presented to the bride a
Precious Moments figurine.

Lingerie shower at Bank South in
the Board Room Oct. 1, 1992.
Mrs. Henry Dawkins, Mrs. Bill

gave a bridesmaids brunch at the
Swift Street Inn the day of the wed
ding at 11 a.m. The bride presented
pearl earrings in a heart shaped satin
box to her bridesmaids. The
hostesses presented a five piece
place setting of the bride and
groom’s silverware.
