to Kiwanis Club

Two Westfield Key Club
members described their club’s ac
tivities and goals to the local Ki
wanis Club Tuesday.
Brad Dehem, president of West
field’s Key Club, said there are 23
Key Club members at Westfield.
The members include nine seniors,
11 juniors and three sophomores.
Dehem said the club is in
volved in several activities. “We’ve
sold peanuts, we clean up after the
games, and we participate in the
daily flag raising.”
He said they also light the fire
at the pep rallies, help PAL and
“tote chairs back and forth all the
time.”
Dehem said the members par
ticipate in other school activities
like varsity football, varsity and b
team basketball and literary dubs.
Shane Hester, vice president of
Westfield’s Key Club, said, “The
club’s most important function is
school and community service.”
Hester gave an historical back
ground of the Key Club and said the
first Key Club in Georgia origi
nated in 1944 at Macon’s Lanier
High School.

gram. Glow and Go is a glow in
the dark toilet seat to prevent hav
ing to turn on any lights at night.

Munson’s Twain act
entertains Rotarians

Perry Rotarians got a visit
from Mark Twain Monday, or at
least someone who called himself
Mark Twain.
Ernie Munson complete with a
white suit, white hair and cigar
treated Rotarians to Mark Twain an
tics and stories.
“I believe in abstinence. 1 don’t
smoke when I sleep,” he said.
Munson told stories about
Twain’s involvement with the
Civil War and writing for newspa
pers.
Munson said he’s been doing
the Mark Twain act since he was in
high school. “I saw it on Broadway,
and I thought to myself, if he can
do that I can do that.”
