SELLING YOUR HOUSE
By Judy
Every so often, shop owners lake inven
tory to ascertain exacUy what they have for
sale. Homeowners who put their property on
the market have to do pretty much the same
thing.
What, exacUy, are you selling? An at
tractive house, a well-kept yard, sure. But
what goes with it? Built-in appliances usu
ally stay, but in some areas it's customary to
lake the refrigerator, the washer and dryer
withyou. How about the carpeting, the made
to-measure window draperies? Left for the
new owner, they become a selling point, a
positive value. Some items are negotiable.
Sometimes prospective buyers will pay more
fora house if the furnishings, a special light
ing fixture or a lawn mower are included to
sweeten the deal.
What's important is spelling it all out
when the property is offered for sale. The real
estate professional will help you sort out what
stays, what goes. We'll certainly helpwith the
negotiating. We're experienced in the give
and take that goes into a successful sale.
Happy Holidays to all from the real estate
