The Furniture, Furnishings, and
Equipment specified are identified by
construction standards which stipulate
the quality, style, and finish(es)
required; and, whenever possible, are
identified by model number of two (2) or
more acceptable manufacturers.
Alternate items by other manufacturers
of Furniture, Furnishings and Equipment
which are equal to the quality and
designs specified shall be considered.
For approval of alternate items, the
Bidder must promptly make a written
request for consideration. Such
taauests must be received by the
Designer no later than fifteen (15) days
preceding the bid opening date.
Following evaluation, if the alternate
item is approved, an addendum to the
contract document shall be issued.
Such addenda shall be issued no later
than seven (7) calendar days preceding
the bid opening date. It is the intent of
this specification both to promote fair
and competitive bidding, and to insure
that the contract be awarded for
Furniture, Furnishings, and Equipment
which achieve an integrated building
design. With regard to this intent, items
equal to those items specified shall be
considered.
Bidding documents may be obtained
upon payment of a non-refundable
deposit of $75.00 per set, with check
made payable to Wheat Interior Design
Associates. Bidding documents may be

Proposals shall be submitted on
proposal forms issued by the Houston
County Public Library Board of
Trustees. Submission of bid proposals
shall be accompanied by a bid security
in the amount of not less than five
percent (5%) of the total bid proposal,
including all add alternates. A bid bond,
certified check, or cashiers check shall
be acceptable as bid security. No other
form of proposal guaranty shall be
accepted. Bid security shall be made
payable to the Owner, and properly
executed by the Bidder and by qualified
Surety. Each signature shall be an
original signature. Stamped or facsimile
signatures shall not be accepted.
Telegraphic or facsimile bonds shall not
be accepted. The Bid Security shall
certify that the submitted proposal is
offered for acceptance for a period of
sixty (60) days from the date of the
public bid opening. Bid security shall be
returned to the unsuccessful bidder
after a period of sixty (60) days from the
date of the public bid opening.
No oral, telegraphed, telephone, or
facsimile modification of the proposal
will be considered. Prior to signing the
award contract(s), the Successful
Bidder(s) shall pay the premium for and
furnish a performance bond and a
payment bond, each in the full amount of
the contract award(s). Each bond
signature on each bond shall be an
original signature. Stamped or facsimile
signatures shall not be accepted.
