Harris couple
celebrates 50th
anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Adorlha Harris Sr.
celebrated their 50th wedding an
niversary Saturday Dec. 26 at the
Holiday Inn in Warner Robins.
Attending the party, which in
cluded a renewing of vows, a musi
cal tribute from the couple's grand
children and a tribute and remarks
from friends and family members,
were the Harris' four daughters and
two sons and their families.
The couple has 11 grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.
Also attending were a host of their
nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.

Foundation now
Ten free trees will be given to
each person who joins The National
Arbor Day Foundation during
January 1993.
The free trees tire part of the non
profit foundation's Trees for
America campaign.
The 10 trees arc the Sugar Maple,
White Flowering Dogwood, Pin
Oak, White Pine, Red Maple,
Birch, American Redbud, Silver
Maple, Red Oak and Colorado Blue
Spruce.
"These trees were selected to pro
vide every season of the year:
lovely spring flowers, cool summer
shade, spectacular autumn colors
and winter berries and nesting sites
for songbirds," John Roscnow, the
foundation's executive director, said.
The trees will be shipped post
paid at the right time for planting
between Feb. 1 and May 31 with
enclosed instructions. The six to 12
inch trees are guaranteed to grow or
they will be replaced free of charge.
Members also receive a subscrip
tion to the foundation's "Arbor
Day" news magazine, The Tree
Book with information about tree
planting and care, and a member
ship card.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as of
November 1991 there were 17,532
Georgia drivers with five or more
DUI violations. The newspaper's
analysis showed that nearly one
third of the automobile crashes in
Georgia involve a repeat DUI of
fender.
