County E—9ll center spoke to local
Rotarians Monday and explained
different programs and how the E

Holder started the meeting by
showing a five-minute video of the
center which is based in Warner

and and E-911 system which is
what Houston County has.
“The 'E' stands for ’enhanced.'
That means within three seconds
your name address and telephone
number shows up on the screen at
the center,” Holder said.
Houston County has the most
technologically advanced system
available according to Holder. “Bibb
County doesn’t even have this sys

however, the old seven-digit
emergency numbers were called
132,000 times. Holder asked Rotar

Holder described the “Arc you

program is for those who live alone

the day. “We call four times within
45 minutes,” she said.
If the center doesn’t get anyone
by the fourth call, an alert screen
appears on the computer which lists
the person’s family and doctor in
formation. Then the emergency cen

She said most anyone can sign
up for the program. Applications
arc available at the center located on

She also encouraged Rotarians to
